Bought the Dress at J Majors :)

I'm off to work in a sec but had to pop in to let you guys know I bought the dress. I opened a thread a while back asking if anyone negotiated price on dress.  I ended up saving over $500 just by asking them to come closer to my budget. YAY!  THe staff there is wonderful!  I went in twice and both times, they were very friendly & helpful. They have dresses in all price ranges. Highly Recommend. :)

Yay! I bought my dress at J Majors too and I LOVE them. I had an issue with their alterations people recently, (it wasn't their fault, it was the alterations store) and as soon as I let them know about it they fixed it (I'm talking like, they called me back in 10 minutes and everything had been taken care of.)

They're good people. :) Congrats on your purchase!

Good for you!!!  I would have never even tried to negotiate because I wouldn't have thought it would have worked....I'm glad to hear that you saved so much money by having the guts to do it though!!!  Congrats!

CJ- do they use the alterations place next door? Anne's?  I didn't even ask. I just wanted to get the dress paid for and reserved.  I don't want them to take measurements and order it until I shed 8 lbs I gained recently since eating lunch out every day with my new job!

Thanks Allie- huge relief! can't wait to see your wedding pics!! 3 more days!!! :)

Leigh Anne- I'm not usually the type to negotiate, trust me!!  I came around to the idea when I was a small business owner...those who negotiated always got a better deal!  If I couldnt come down on price, I would at least throw in some extras. I learned it never hurts to ask!  And wow am I glad I did in this case!

    Show pics please!

I didn't end up buying there, but I agree that it's an excellent shop.  They called me a couple weeks after I stopped in to ask how my planning was going.

A tip for those who don't like negotiating:  Ask for the Trunk Show discount.  I went to Hayden Olivia and found my dress and when they asked if I wanted to order it then I told them no because I know they have a trunk show for that designer coming up and they told me they would give me the trunk show discount whenever I bought the dress.  Trunk show discounts are usually 10% (average).  It's definitely worth the ask!
