Is it high maintenance of me to want to get my hair &makeup done for engagement pictures? My hair is long and very straight, and I have a hard time keeping it out of my face without putting it behind my ears. I thought it might look better if I got it done by a hair stylist, along with my makeup. Do a lot of people get their hair and makeup done for engagement pictures? Is it worth it?

    It's up to you whether or not you get it done. If you want it done and you can afford it, then go for it. Otherwise do it yourself.

    No, that is not high maintenance to want to look your best.

    These are pictures that you and your families are going to keep for a long time so it's understandable that you want to look your best. I don't think that's being high maintenance at all. And I have the same problem with my hair so I completely understand!

    No! These pictures will last a lifetime! And as long as you don't go over the top with the hair and makeup then it'll be just fine!

    If that makes you feel more confident then I say go right ahead! Maybe time it with your usual trip to the salon so you can have a nice blow out if you don't want to spend too much.

    I dont think its high maintenance. Its a budget thing. If you have room in the budget then go for it.

    FWIW, I used my engagement pictures as an opportunity to have a trail for my make up.

    Given how expensive it is to have engagement pics done, I think it's perfectly reasonable to spend a little money to make sure you look your very best. These are pics you're likely to frame or give to people, so don't feel that hair and makeup are frivolous.

    I don't think its high maintenance! I'm planning on getting my makeup trial done the day I'm getting my engagement pictures taken so I can kill two birds with one stones. And I'm waiting to get my hair cut and colored and then get it done a few days before the photos. If you are high maintenance, then so am I!
