AAHHHHH @Swazzle I LOVE your shoes! I have so many shoes...FI makes fun of me so I'm trying to clear out my lesser favorites so I have the excuse to buy more. He just doesn't understand...
@CocoBellaF - I'm sorry that your mortgage payment went up and that your Escrow was short. That totally sucks. Especially when you're on a tight budget.
I'm working today, but little O is home sick. She's had a cold since Saturday and just didn't get any better at her dad's this weekend. So she's keeping my mom (and boss) busy, which is nice. I have to re-evaluate our budget now to include my new healthcare plan. I swear, I filled out that stupid application 3 times and got 3 different responses on healthcare options. Finally I got to a place i'm comfortable with and I'll just have to figure out the premium in our budget (which is already stupid thin).
I'm loving hearing about all of these crazy dreams! I haven't had any lately, which is odd. I'm usually one of those people that have weird dreams ALL.THE.TIME.
@Blue & White - I ordered Vista Print business cards for our photo sharing website. They had a ton of different designs and super cheap. I think it was like 250 cards for $10. I certainly didn't need 250...but for the price it was worth it. Here's a pic of how mine turned out:
@swazzle, I love the cognac colored boots!!! But living in fl, I don't really have a need for them.
I haven't had any weird dreams lately... I don't typically dream a lot, least not that I remember anyways.
@ollie, aw, give O big hugs from me. My whole house is sick.... It's pretty sucktastic.
Also, budgeting blows. I need to redo mine, but dammit I just don't wanna. I have a g2g to plan for, and a wedding trip to plan. I'm heading home to Philly for a week in August. I dunno if C will want to go or will be able to go. Which reminds me, I need to ask little brother when he's mailing out the invites. Hmmmmmm.....
@lmhollister - Thanks! I'm pretty excited for them. Have you heard of JustFab? They have new boots/shoes/bags out each month and they're $40. You "subscribe" to it but you can pass each month. I have 2 pairs of boots and a pair of pumps from them already. @BriSox81 and @buddysmom80 are members too.
@Imhollister - I'm a member of justfab.com too. Pretty awesome for boots. I've bought 2 pairs already and all my coworkers keep asking me where I got them for so cheap. They're also great about returns/exchanges and you can opt out each month if you don't want to purchase anything which is awesome!
@Swazzle - Thanks! I thought they turned out pretty cute and we actually got a TON of photos from guests uploaded to our site which was awesome.
@lmhollister - I thought that too, but it's totally not! They send you an email on the 1st of the month, and you have till the 5th to "skip" the month, and it's really easy to do. They don't hide it or make it difficult to find - it's a pink button at the top to click & skip.
@swazzle I love those boots! Damn my small feet....
@lmhollister- I think I need to get the cats on a better feeding schedule and less of a reliance on dry food. My cats get wet food in the morning and evening and the dry food sits out all day. So the plan is to eliminate the dry food sitting out all day and do a mid day feeding with some dry food for everyone and wet food for bailey.
I didn't need a pair of new shoes...and yet here I am with sandals because even though it's like 20 degrees out I just want it to be summer. @BriSox81@allusive007@Swazzle This is all your fault (but not really :P). I have a shoe addiction.
Regarding llamas, from what I know, they are sheared and their fur is used for making stuff. Like in Peru...

@cocobellaF I hate when the mortgage payment goes up to due to escrow it's so annoying. Unexpected expenses are the worst too.
I came into work today. Boo, I was hoping to be snowed in again. The roads weren't too bad though, thank goodness. Not sure if I will have rehearsal or not tonight either.
We found out yesterday one of my kitties Bailey has crystals in his urine, so he has to go on this special prescription diet of dry and wet food. One of my other cats had this issue, including very expensive surgery. That cat who lives with my parents wound up only being fed wet food. So now we are trying to determine the best way to handle this one cat (of our four) needing prescription food and perhaps only an all wet food diet. It seems so hard without impacting the other cats. Advice? Suggestions anyone?
@peaseblossom55, I can help with this! BF's cat has the same problem. He eats Royal Canin Urinary S/O dry food, has unlimited water available, and has had no problems since. This is a prescription food, but we've had no problem finding it locally. I think a 4-month supply is about $50.
ETA: (braaainz ...) I was told that this food mainly has a higher water content and is harmless for other kitties. So Ellie could eat it as well, but we're going to try to avoid that by feeding them at the same time on opposite sides of the room (they're both on diets - they do not live together yet).
Oh, and I'm too sleepy to edit, so here we go. I'm tired. I'm sick of winter. Okay, pleasantries aside ...
Last night BF and I worked on setting a budget. We're looking to buy this spring/summer if at all possible, so we made a worst-case scenario monthly budget (we buy at the top of our "number", we don't combine our cell phones, we have the coldest winter month, we make no attempt to cut back or save money, we live on his income alone, etc.). The number was pretty scary. I think it's good - first of all, we would never voluntarily live like that. I will work. We will cut back if we are coming up tight some months. But scaring ourselves straight is always good, eh?
That being said, I'm going to take up a friend on his offer to get me work playing piano/organ for funerals. Good money for a couple hours of work a week and someone has to do it.
@beanbot2002 - I will commiserate with you. it does seem like money just flies out the window as soon as you get it! I have also been looking at jobs outside of the government. as much as people talk about feds getting paid ridiculous amounts, I am grossly underpaid and still at an entry level position 5 years later. I'm talking underpaid by $10,000-$15,000 in a low cost-of-living state. and my job hasn't even been that secure with all the furloughs! I have started applying around to see what's open. I really hope that you can find something more flexible or even work from home! what does your brother do?
OMG YES! So very underpaid. I've been here for 10 years now. Was in an entry level Admin position up until last May, with no ability to move up without 3-5 years of supervisory experience and no ability to obtain supervisory experience in the county. It was a No-Win situation. Then I switched to the position I am in now, which is still entry level, but at least there is the ability to move up. But not by a whole ton. At least it's something. But I'm probably in the same boat $15-20k underpaid for my region for the work I do.
My brother works for a company called Fishbowl Inc. They provide software and client/guest support for restaurants. He was telling me about what the entry level positions start off at, and its way more than what I'm making, doing work that is generaly similar to what I do now. And they have insanely good raise schedules and the ability for certain positions to work primarily from home, only coming into the office once or twice a month. I'm going to talk to him and get some more specifics and then go from there.

On the subject of weird dreams, I had this strange one last week:
I was riding a wild hog bareback (that sounds dirty...). I have no idea why I was riding the wild hog, I just was. I steered him by reaching around either side of his face and grasping onto his two long teeth-fangs and just pulling them whichever direction I wanted to go. He was really slobbery though, so my hands kept getting gross and nasty. Finally, I got to wherever I was going, hopped off the wild hog, wiped my palms on my pants, and walked away.
That's the last time I let BF talk me into watching a documentary about wild hogs before bed.
You just reminded me about some weird movie we watched when I was a kid, about wild boars. And then my brother convinced me that our woods were full of killer wild boars that were going to eat me in the middle of the night. Asshole brother.

@keptinstiches so glad it has worked out for your BF's cat. I'm hoping we are able to find a solution that works for Bailey to keep him healthy. I've heard that brand is pretty good too. My mom works a lot with cats and she has said, to keep the cat on a wet food diet only. I've also seen a lot online to this affect. So FI & I will need to talk about our plan of action because it affects his cats too.
@allusive007 love em! Now I want a photo sharing website. Really, I'm trying to make this wedding easy And semi high tech, obviously with a website AND a photo sharing website? Yea, my grandma's on facebook. FI's family is a bit more behind the times, but even he has 80-90 year old relatives on facebook (which apparently means they're good at the internets.)
I made up an insert sized one and a business card sized insert and FI will pick this evening. Should be fun.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
eek! there is a shooting going on at the university near where I live. no word on if anyone was hurt or killed or if the shooter has been stopped. what is with people?!?!?
@cocobellaf saw that - there have been SO many shootings in the last few weeks. It's really disheartening. I'm glad they haven't started reporting details they haven't confirmed yet, though, even if it gives us anxiety a bit longer.

Today just feels incredibly like a Friday, not a Wednesday. Spent last night at FI's since I wanted to dodge parking bans. Digging out this morning was fun. A good 6-10 inches of snow I think. But I'm at work and chugging away on the usual.
Today goes to slight levels of suckage. BF snagged the liner of his coat in his zipper today, ripping the liner and tearing off the slider. Does anyone know how to replace a slider without having to do the whole zipper? (Google it; google confuses me. I barely sew and need to do this by hand - no machine. I have basic tools.)
My day started early today. I got up at 2am to go to work for two hours. Hooray for getting paid to stand around a little and wish that I was at home in my nice bed. I did get to go back home and take a nap before heading out to swim class.
Swim class was so much fun. I forgot how invigorating a sport can be if you actually enjoy it. I forgot about the endorphins that are released and how competitive I can be when it comes down to it. Now that I'm mostly over that flu, I hopefully won't miss anymore classes.
My health insurance was cancelled on me. It's my own fault for falling behind in payments. I had gotten it originally when I had back problems that left me almost unable to walk or work, and the deal was my dad and my aunt would pay for it each month. Well, they never could remember about it and I couldn't keep up with it. And right as I start getting into the swing of seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist about my mental problems and getting on medication, it gets cancelled. I'm angry with myself, but I have no one to blame but myself for failing to remind my dad or aunt or not being able to pay it myself.
