Sing the processional?

I had this crazy thought today while looking at processional songs, and had the idea that instead of singing during the actual ceremony like was originally planned, that I might sing my processional song as I walk down the aisle to my FH.  I was thinking of doing There You Are, by Martina McBride..... would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this...

    I wouldn't do it...  To many emotions, too many nerves...  Either have someone else sing it or have a recording play.

    Egads, no. Another Knottie has a friend who did this, and she showed me the video. It was so awkward. I was positively cringing from my desk chair and can't imagine how it must have felt to actually BE there. 
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    Don't sing walking down the aisle, don't sing at your ceremony, don't sing at your reception.  It's AWish and tacky.  Even people with really amazing talents shouldn't perform at their own wedding.

    I am a singer and I would not sing period during my wedding. It screams AW to me. I definitely would not suggest singing as you walk down the aisle. Sorry, but it will be weird for your guests.

    I agree with this. I feel like when a bride or groom performs at their wedding/reception it takes away from the day and makes it more about the performer even if the intention is to serenade your FI. I admittedly haven't seen the recent viral video of the bride singing to her groom as she comes down the aisle been my first thought when i heard about it was- why?
