So yesterday I bought my wedding gown!!! I am BEYOND excited right now...I seriously can't quit grinning over it. I really wish I just had the dress in my hands and didn't have to wait 4 to 6 months for the thing to come in. But anyway, here's the story.
I had three appointments set up yesterday to check out dresses I had pre-selected at several salons from several solo dress shopping missions. I didn't really want to go through a day long ordeal of trying on a bunch of dresses and trying to narrow it down with everyone in attendance so I went by myself ahead of time and just reserved my favorites to show my mom and sister.
The first appointment I was looking forward to and I wasn't. I found two dresses I absolutely loved at this salon but I really wasn't a fan of the consultant. I felt like we weren't connecting with each other and I wasn't getting a real sense of direction from her. I felt she just kept consistently pushing whatever was most expensive under the guise of "this one looks the best, or has the best color, etc" and didn't really hide her motives very well. When we got to the salon it was absolutely insane and I'm honestly a little bit unhappy overall with my experience there. When you try on your dress you have to walk back out into a big common area and try to show off your dress to your family/friends/whoever is with you while about 20 other strangers look on (and also while there are 1 or 2 other brides waiting to use the mirrored area). It honestly felt like a cattle round up or something. Anyway, I showed my mom and sis my two favorite Mori Lee dresses.
Afterwards we took a coffee break and then went to my second appointment. I had tried on dresses at this salon about three weeks ago and had three favorites but after sleeping on it a lot I was feeling really strongly about one dress over the other two but I still wanted my mom and my sister to see them and get their opinion. I tried on the first two less favorite dresses plus some new stuff that came in but the whole time I just couldn't get the one dress out of my mind. I finally tried it on and knew it was it. I didn't want to take it off although I did briefly just to show one more dress but afterwards I put it right back on again and pretty much had my pretty princess moment in our area of the salon.
