Eff Cancer.
H's grandfather just passed away.
He had been moved to hospice on Sunday evening. He was given heavy painkillers and anti-anxiety medications. He was comfortable and sleeping when he slowly slipped away.
The kicker is that when he had a PET scan on Saturday at the hospital, it was found that the cancer had spread to his liver. This of course showed in the previous scan, but was never relayed to my in laws. If they had known, they never would have put him through 13 days of radiation had they known.
It all just sucks. I had to tell DH which was like taking a bullet for me, so I can only imagine how he's feeling.
