Cost effective yet elegant caterer that'll do a Newport wedding

Hello to all,

New to The Knot so bare with me and I thank you in advance for your help

!

My fiance and I are planning a 2014 summer wedding at the Easton Beach Rotunda Ballroom in Newport. For anyone that has used or is knowledge about pricing on catering in the area, what do you recommend?

We are currently in Dallas, TX (both grew up in CT) so all of our research has been online. A few of the recommendations from Easton Beach came back sky high so just trying to see who has had great experience with caterers who put on a great appearance with great food at a great price

We used Jacky's Galaxie to serve authentic Asian cuisine and B & M Clambake and Catering to serve Western comfort food. B & M Clambake and Catering is very budget friendly. They have menu options and catering pricing to give you an idea on cost. Tastings are free and customized to your liking.

I second West Bay Gourmet!! KC is amazing, she also acts as a Day of Coordinator.

I also had to plan from the West Coast and she was always easy to reach via email/phone.

I am using Russell Morin. I was aiming for as cost efficient as possible without sacrificing quality, and they gave me the second lowest quote and were extremely flexible with accommodating my budget. Russell Morin is known for having delicious food and the best service so I was happy to book with them. I would recommend contacting them, letting them know what you want to spend and what you want and see what they can do'. Also, The lowest quote was Emery's, but I didn't participate in a tasting there so I cannot speak to their food or quality of service.

Last thing, I'm saving a ton of money by supplying my own liquor, which many caterers will allow (they'll just serve it for you and charge you a fee). Good luck!

@NMP35 We used Russell Morin and provided our own alcohol. Just an FYI they will make any signature drinks for you, using your alcohol at no extra charge. We did 2 signatures it's a nice touch.
