<div> </div><div>I appreciate that you understood when I apologized. I always read entire threads now. I don't like the taste of my own foot. (Or anyone's foot, really.)</div>
LOVE this thread. I'm worried to even type this, because I kind of sort of really love all of you lately. no lie. But here goes
SarahP- I think we might be separated sisters. For real. Finish that honeymoon and come back to hang out with me. Blue and AATB and DeepCove- you all as well. I'm glad there are still some sane 10/11'ers left.
Sesh- You are one of the most sincere and strong people I've 'ever' known. Oh, and as you know, I kind of have a crush on your husband.
Cew/KD/OWN/Bec- I can only hope to be as wonderful and caring and loving as you all are when I'm a mom. I smile whenever I see you guys talk about your 'grown' kids, because it's so apparent how much they mean to you.
Suc/Tide/KW/Mag- I'm guessing you'll be just as awesome. But the babies have to grow up a little first before I can decide
CCF/Nates- enough said.
LTZ- You might be my new favorite. For real. Like someone else said, I laugh whenever you post, especially because it's so effortless.
Rach- you're pretty. I'm jealous.
Ditto everyone else on MM. I was seriously intimidated, but now I realize you're just sweet and awesome. Same to Jas, actually. I'm always impressed by her responses.
ETA: Nebb/Raynes, I'm still a little in awe of you both from my GIS-lurking days. The opinion hasn't changed.
Another one for Nates, for our mutual love of Fleetwood Mac. "Landslide" was my father-daughter dance at the wedding... my dad even picked it out (can you tell where I got my good taste in music?)
Reddy- I'm pretty sure we'd be awesome friends IRL.
Kim- please post more. You're funny, and you remind me so much of my old roommate.

Aww, compliments from J&K make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! J used to intimidate me (and still does a little tiny bit), but I've always admired her from afar -- intelligent outspokeness = turn on -- so I had an inordinate amount of fun in the "I judge" thread yesterday... even if I was kind of mean without intending to be.
Beatles -- I'm half Vietnamese, on my (biological) father's side, but my mom (the adopted one, who I consider my "real" mom in spite of the lack of shared genes) is Thai. I love her to pieces... but sometimes I think her goal in life is to prove every Hollywood stereotype about demanding and overly protective Asian mothers absolutely 100% true. She's kind of like Lane's mom on the Gilmore Girls, except instead of God crazy, she's just generally crazy.
I'm going to go in a different direction...ha ha ha ...semi-hijack... Here's love for people's sig pics and why: Anna- Best sig quote LesPaul- Diggin' the bouquet J&K - Love that fat cat can fit in diet box OWN- That smile says, "guess what I've been up to" AATB - The fascinator and stole just stole the show (sorry couldn't resist the pun) Beatles- Attack kitty, lying in hiding...totally camoflauged Sarah - You got the boogie kissin' fever and last but not least... Nates- That cheeky grin is happiness incarnate!
I have some love for some people eventhough I have become more of a lurker because by the time I get home, most of the threads are dead.
AATB, Anna, Jenna and Sesh I have so much love for you guys. Thank you for all of the love and support.
The the Knotties who ripped tm a new one for saying that racist shyt last week, much much love to you guys. Some people just don't know when to stop.
To Nebb and J&K, I wish there was something that I could do to get some lovey love from you guys but I have a feeling that the only thing you would love about me is when I leave SB.
Staceytaylor, I promise I love you for more reasons than because you have an "e" in your name like my sister. You are the best and I always love to hear from you.
Sarahplz, I LOVE your new siggy and I am so jealous that you are in Hawaii right now especially because it is below freakin zero here.
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room......
Celles, I didn't know you were adopted. What a fascinating story. Do you identify culturally as Vietnamese as well? I haven't seen Gilmore Girls (I know, shocking) but I think I know what you mean by the cultural differences. My mom is a first-generation Korean and fits some of the stereotypes too. They are rooted in truth, after all. So I'm guessing you've been pushed toward academic achievement and social modesty as well?

Any--I've said it before, you're like my little sis. I love getting to know you and can't wait to learn more.
OWN--I must admit, after hearing about your Christmas traditions, I totally love you. I imagine you to be a totally awesome mom and person.
Reddy--I'm glad we are starting to chat now. I totally respect your views and artistic skills and can't wait to get to know you better.
Anna--always makes me laugh. I want to bake cookies with her and watch Elf and hear more about her restaurant plans because I will be first in line when it opens.
Jas--awesome new mod! I want to be your IRL friend.
KD--I love hearing your opinion on things. I feel wiser after reading your posts. Same with Beatles.
Oh Shoot! I forgot about Any! We are almost birthday twins. I forgive you for being born a day late. I have to forgive my cousin every year for being born a day early. LOL!! Smooches!!!!

I also really dig the IN ladies, MILF and Milkduds, I'm so excited for Milkduds wedding cause I know it's gonna be amazing. And Milf had a beautiful wedding and she is such a great person.
Also, all you other Knotties, please mail yourselves to me for Christmas because that would be the most awesome Christmas party ever!
Celles, Scott's mom is the same way, over-protective Asian stereotype wise. Sometimes she serves as a reminder that stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason.
One of my good friends from high school (and a BM!) is Filipino and I had never even heard the overbearing Asian mom stereotype until I met her. I was going over to her house once and she said "Just a warning...everything you've ever heard about crazy Asian moms? It's true. At least with my mom." And clueless me was like "huh? I bet your mom is lovely!"
Her mom was nuts. But she really liked me, somehow. I'm not sure why. Probably because I was the swim team captain and didn't have a boyfriend. She thought boys were the devil.

My parents didn't tell me I was adopted until I was 17. (I figured it out before then, but they refused to confirm it until I was old enough to force the issue.) By then, I had grown up thinking I was half-Thai -- and actually having visited Thailand several times, not to mention attending a Buddhist watt most weekends with my mom -- so my ethnic identity is a little... jumbled. Posted by Celles
Oh goodness, I think it's totally understandable for you to have a complicated ethnic identity. :) So culturally, you kind of are half-Thai, but not biologically. I can't imagine what it must have been like to grow up under the assumption of coming from one ethnic culture and find out later that it's another. I do think it's neat that you have had the opportunity to connect with Thai culture with your family. I am hoping to go to Korea someday, but my mom is scared to fly anywhere so the chances are not great that we would go together. But you might feel differently about your time in Thailand, so I'm not making assumptions on your part. :)
Do you feel you have been or will be able to compromise some American/Thai values with your mom? I think it's interesting the way it plays out in Asian-American families, especially in our generation.

I have lots of love for SB as a whole.. people are pretty welcoming to me when I return after 2 or 3 weeks of being MIA, I appreciate that.
What the crap?! I just got here and I now I have to run out to pick up FI and I didn't read any of this thread yet (yeah I know that's a big no-no) but hear this, ok? When I get back here I'm going to love the shiit out of all of you and you're gonna like it. Ta-ta for now...

I love this threat. It makes the love fest feel somewhat dirty. Just my style ;).
OH MILF! I miss MILF. I was super happy she was around the past couple days, but sad that she was around because she conked her head. Poor MILF.

Nates- I really feel like, even though we don't have a lot in common as far as where we grew up, etc., I connect with you well. Maybe it's because your FI is from IN, but I think it's mostly because you're awesome. I'm gong to wrap myself up and send me as your wedding gift.
Her mom was nuts. But she really liked me, somehow. I'm not sure why. Probably because I was the swim team captain and didn't have a boyfriend. She thought boys were the devil.
STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO J&K. Celles, Scott's mom is the same way, over-protective Asian stereotype wise. Sometimes she serves as a reminder that stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason.
In Response to Re: So don't tell anyone... (let's love fest, guys!) : Oh, yes. Very much so. I don't really identify with anything. My parents didn't tell me I was adopted until I was 17. (I figured it out before then, but they refused to confirm it until I was old enough to force the issue.) By then, I had grown up thinking I was half-Thai -- and actually having visited Thailand several times, not to mention attending a Buddhist watt most weekends with my mom -- so my ethnic identity is a little... jumbled.

Taco cat: Always a palindrome. ALWAYS, okay J&K?
