Wedding Woes

Good morning

It's my day off, but the kiddo has a Dr's appt and then I have to work for a little bit.  I'm so ready for mandatory OT to be over.

DefConn was a grumpy gus this morning.  He did not appreciate sleeping in as much as I did.  He screamed bloody murder when I put him in his car seat to go to the sitter's.  I'm sure he was heard 3 streets over.  Oy.

I'm hoping this is the last day we're in the negative temps.  I'm sure it's not.  But I can dream.

It feels like "Meh" day instead of hump day.  ;)

Re: Good morning

  • we are bracing ourselves for 6-10 more inches tomorrow. whatever, it is what it is - but life isn't stopping because of snow and it's become almost impossible in some areas to get crap done. i was reading an article about people getting fired because of school closures and having to take days off at work to be with their kids. i understand to a certain degree about work, but what are people supposed to do? if i didn't WFH i would have been fired already between him getting sick and with school being closed. both of us don't have enough sick time to cover what days the kid has had to stay home.

also, i come back from a day off to find chaos in my email box.

i have to get a wiper fixed after it broke from falling ice. not the blade, the whole wiper itself. the whole damn thing snapped. i'm not looking forward to that bill.

i'm just in a poopy mood today and need to figure out how to turn this frown upside down.

  • Dang, WZ that sucks---school closings, wiper arm, etc.  :(

Conn-I hear you on the "meh".  I think it's the fact that this winter has been so relentless.  No breaks, no sun, nothing.  JUST DRAB, WHIPPING WIND.  What!?  *sigh*  I see why people buy packages to tanning beds.

I am excited for this weekend, H and I are having dinner Friday (the two of us) and then meeting 1-2 other couples out for drinks after.  It was funny because the couple that initiated it didn't even realize it was Valentine's Day.  Love it.

Also, I don't feel like I'm getting a cold, but I have had this general yucky sinus thing for about 10 days...I can still breathe but its definitely not normal.  Stupid winter---again.

  • and the crazy thing - i called the dealership for a quote. i know not to go to them because of their outrageous prices, but i need to know where to start. they charge $180 for the labor. so a wiper blade, which will cost me to replace at jiffy lube for $14 will cost me almost $225.00 at the dealership because they charge labor. i mean, really. they don't see anything wrong with that.
  • LOL.  That's fricking ridiculous.

  • It's pouring rain and gross out with cold winds. And they kept the air conditioning on in my office. WTF.

Went to bed with indigestion. Still have it. I'm grumpy.

3.5 weeks till my wedding, followed by trip to DC. I'm excited for all the damn planning and whatnot to be over. FI was right, we should have eloped.

My work productivity/enthusiasm level is currently registering at just above "beat the hell out of the copier"

    I need a drink.
