Ricks, I do too! It's kinda funny because he intially wasn't my "type", but I found he was everything I had ever wanted. We didn't have any small things in common (similar tastes in music, hobbies, etc.), but all our big goals and interests were the same. I still tease him though.
My H is my type all the way but there are some things he likes (like the stuff about planets, stars and Star Track) that I am not too interested in so I call him a nerd.
My husband is REALLY into comics, when I first met him I couldnt figure out if he was cute nerdy or just... weird nerdy. He would NEVER hang out with me on "new comic day" which I didnt get for a long time. He was completely opposite from everyone I had ever dated, and yet here we are.
As for types: when it comes to movies and TV, I've always had crushes on the Matthew Gray Gublers of the world - sweet, soulful nerds who are so skinny that they barely have enough butt to hold up their pants. What's interesting about FI is that he embodies a lot of that, and yet he's also this superjock who's in excellent shape. I never saw myself spending the rest of my life with an athlete, but here I am.
Kim, my mom always told me that nerds make the best husbands. I didn't realize until later that her comment was actually a dig at my dad, who is decidedly not a nerd.
My aunts used to tell me the same thing, though, so I believed them. He makes a wonderful FI so I have high hopes for his potential as a kick ass H.

Hehe thanks! FI is just getting started on triathlons - he pretty much uses them as cross-training for speedskating, although he's going to do the Ironman Wisconsin in September. It drives me nuts that he can just nonchalantly decide to do the Ironman... but hey, he's in good shape. :)
I do like going to triathlons and ogling the man-candy, though. They're much more muscular on the upper body than speedskaters.

Hey thanks! I should probably be going to sleep, huh?
And I do have a long day... I'm hoping that if I'm kind of tired when I get on the plane, I'll be able to sleep on the flight, since I'll be arriving in Rome at 8am Italy time, or 2am Eastern. Sunday is going to be one sleepy day while I adjust...
Going to museums and archaeological sites, mostly... I'm spending the first week in Florence, the next three weeks in Rome, and the last two weeks in and around Naples. I'm finally going to see all the ancient art that I've been wanting to see, and I can't wait.
Ang, to answer your question from earlier - it's been a long, stressful day (sorry; J came home).
Sarah, you've got the mix of Spencer and Morgan
I like physically strong guys, (Nebb, you should see J's forearms) ones who can pick me up (I don't know why that's a thing with me, but it makes me giggle all the time. Normally, I'd like the scruffy look, but on J, it makes him look like a hoodlum, especially since he doesn't smile in photos. I like nice smiles, and while the camera gives him lockjaw, he has a really nice one. Dark hair and blue eyes, darker complexion (like tanned) but I won't turn my back on a blonde! I even like a little bit of the gray mixed in - and I don't mind bald spots or receding hairlines, if there's no combover. I like a guy who can take charge of a situation, or at least appear to - I once dated the head of security for a pro football team, I've had a relationship with a vice cop/SWAT team member, and J looks like he could take you out with one blow.
Daughtry is a good representation, and yes, Jon Hamm probably is too. As is George Clooney.
Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

That's so exciting! I really need to get to NY for art purposes.
I left, but now I'm back. I kind of like the nerdy types but T is not. He's....I don't even know. White, likes rap (real rap- not the bs that gets played on the radio alot), very money driven, cant fix a car, going to school for computer networking, dresses kind of preppy....not sure what I'd call him. I love him though.

actually, that sounds like my husband. except he's already gone to school for computer networking, and now works in computer networking (his title is network administrator). he's also short and skinny. at least he's athletic, ha.
Haha pooh, you're H (:D!) is cute. I like the computer networking thing, except I refuse to have 20 opened up computers all over my house, we're going to need an office for him.
our towers are confined to the office. DH hates clutter, and hates the look of open computers all over the house so I dodged a bullet with that one. our eventual goal is to have every tv plus the stereo and all speakers in the house wired to the computers. we'd be able to listen to music from any tv that is stored on our computers (right now, one tv is wired for that) and also to watch movies stored on the computer. and we can control it from that tv too. his next step for now is to install surround sound in the living rooms, kitchen, and our bedroom. boom chicka bow wow.
but yea, I call my H a nerd all the time. his saving grace is his love of sports. I hope our kids get his athletic gene because I don't have one to give them.
Thats awesome! T likes things clean but not as much as I do. We do currently have the computer hooked to xbox so we can stream movies and music through it into the tv, surround sound everywhere would be amazing though.
Re: How do I defriend people
But I also love men in spandex:
Mark Cavendish, who has the best teeth I have ever seen on a Brit. It helps that we ride the same make of bike, except mine didn't cost $6K+.
and Big George Hincapie.. who used to be Mark's teammate, but is not longer.
But this is who I am marrying.. a cuddly nerd:
ETA: Nebb, sounds like your H should be on Big Bang Theory. FI reminds me of Leonard, but he doesn't see the humor in the show. Go figure.
My FI's kinda funny. He's pretty rugged, drives a truck, served in the army, likes country music, fishing, hiking and cuddling.
Oh wait, I am marrying that one.
