  • lol @LivLeighton, I do that a lot too when I see "county". No one really refers to the county, usually they talk about a city or state. So I often read it as "country".

@TwoDimes - It is pretty cool to be off on a Friday when no one else is. Not to mention, the fair is at the same place as the rodeo. It's this HUGE week long thing that starts the week before. This weekend is kind of the grand finale of events.

@CocoBellaF - Cake nom nom nom (that's all I have to contribute) Also, how are you so awesome doing Insanity?

  • @TwoDimes, it's a live show! We are seeing Spamalot - more my friend's idea than mine, but still, it's a musical and I haven't seen one of those in FOREVER. The same theater is doing Shrek the Musical starting the end of March, so I'm already scheming to drag my friends at work with me to that at some point.
  • @CLogreeneyes Spamalot is a fun musical enjoy!!!!

  • @severmilli12 welcome to the Hobby Lobby obsession! I just realized a couple of weeks ago that I could order stuff online, which I ended up doing. The shipping is a little crazy, but it saves me from going out to HL every Saturday.

@buddysmom80 My obsession is so bad, and now FI is starting to get obsessed with it too. Its sad when the highlight of my week is going to Hobby Lobby on the weekends to buy pillar candles and craft supplies.

  • @Ollie08 - half the time during the Insanity workouts, I'm rolling around on the floor just trying to get within a couple feet of my water bottle.  it's bad.  :)
  • Thanks, @TwoDimes. They are really amazing people and have been so positive throughout everything, so being there for them with even small stuff just seems natural. Plus, their kids are hysterical; I always have so much fun when I baby-sit them! If I end up being sick tomorrow night, I'll have to see if there's another day soon that works for them.

  • @severmilli12 I feel your pain, they should have Hobby Lobby Anonymous. I like HL but the religious stuff kind of turns me off, so I just avoid that stuff because their sales are ridic.

  • @twodimes, the benefits of livin in fl! :)

I also need to get my butt to the gym tomorrow morning before we go to the track meet. I'm still sore, but I need to keep moving.
  • @buddysmom80 Same here. FI read where they were considering closing because of their religious views and health care requirements and when he told me they might be closing, I might have had a mini stroke. Then I was all like image

I really think I would slip into a depression if Hobby Lobby closed before I had all the things I need for the wedding.

  • @severmilli12 I didn't hear about that! Good thing I ordered the rest of my stuff yesterday! Anything else I can get at Michael's or Joann's.

  • @severmilli - your Friends gif made me laugh. I'm obsessed.

@livleighton - don't flip out tomorrow when I don't send you pictures. Ring shopping will be on Sunday ;)

@buddysmom80 - I demand ALL the pictures of Bart. ALL. OF. THEM.

I will be watching the US/Canada hockey game today at noon. I will then be working at my own hockey game tonight.

Tomorrow I am sleeping the fuck in. I could NOT get out of bed this morning, and Violet was right along with me. So I'm gonna get some extra snoozes AND snuggles. Then I have another hockey game - it's Senior Night, so we'd better win.

Sunday will be ring shopping!! EEEE. Then I'm going to have dinner with my BFF - who just told me the other day that she's pregnant, so I'm super duper excited :) (Also, I forgot my favorite sweatshirt at her house the last time we hung out, and I'm dying to get it back, haha)

    Happy Friday!!

I've been lazy all morning. Finally got up and now I'm job hunting and thinking about baking bread. This weekend is FI's 30th birthday! I feel like a bad partner bc I have nothing planned and I can't afford to buy him any presents. We both made each other promise to buy gifts for birthdays & our anniversary this year, but still - I love spoiling him with great surprise gifts, and I'm bummed out I can't do it for this birthday, especially since it's a big one.

Other than that, we'll probably watch a lot of Game of Throne's this weekend (I finally caved and started it, and yes, it's pretty good), take the pup to the dog park, and watch the last of the Olympics!

@TwoDimes I knoooooow. I'm so ashamed. I'm slowly building my collection. I WILL have all 10 seasons within the next year. Wonder if I can put those on my wedding registry.... :)

totally joking about the registry thing.
    maybe.

  • @beanbot2002 Yay mat leave!!!!!  So excited for that baby's world entrance!

@minskat30 does house selling mean you are moving to my hood?

As for the weekend, my goal is to find my motivation.  Because I want to spend it entirely on my couch.  I signed up for a 10 miler and can't though.  So there will be running, yoga, acupuncture, and a meeting with our tax guy.  Sounds so unexciting.

Well that and sexy times bc the sticks I pee on tell me I have too.  So at least I have something fun to look forward to this weekend.

  • @Suzie211 - Sorry, not your neighborhood.  I sent you a text.  How is acupuncture?  I've never tried it.

  • @minskat30. I went to my first session last weekend and liked it. I'm hoping it will help with my migraines and TTC. So I'm planning to go once a week for awhile.

  • Oh cool, I'm not the only NEYer who owns all 10 seasons of Friends. It's the show I watch all the way through 1-2 times a year when I'm feeling down. I LOVE IT.

Home again today with fatigue. I COULD NOT sleep last night because, uh, I slept till almost 5pm yesterday. I stayed up till the wee hours working on our registry, and then I tried to sleep. Fell asleep around 8am, woke up at noon because one of my students called with a question. Now I'm trying to pick something to put on Netflix so I can fall asleep in front of the TV at 1pm in the afternoon like an adult.

My ex-best friend is going to a bar tomorrow night to celebrate his birthday and invited a slew of people, including me. I'm a little sad. He and I were SUPER close for years and broke up because we'd been drunkenly hooking up (behind all of our friends' backs ugh) and he wanted to date a new mutual friend of ours, and I'd developed FEELINGS, and it was just a clusterfuck. Obviously, I'm glad that he didn't want to have a romantic relationship; J is the right person for me and I'm ridiculously happy to be marrying him and not someone else. But it's still a huge bummer.

My ex-friend and I have been trying to be friends again but neither of us has put in the effort. I was really glad that he invited me to his birthday party ... but I have other plans that night that I'm not flaking on. Part of me is disappointed; this would be a good and an easy opportunity to reach out and be like, "Yes, I want to be friends again!" without having to, say, have dinner 1-on-1 (also it's at my FAVORITE BAR so of course I want to go). But part of me is glad that the decision is out of my hands.

Awww thanks for all the maternity leave love!! My coworkers were blown at the idea of me wanting to take 2 days off before the c section to get things in order. They were like "UGH! WHY???" Uh...cause I can. And I want to. Sheesh. So I love that you guys are excited for me.

If they had it their way, I'd pop No-uh out on Tuesday and be back in the office on Wednesday lol

  • @CocoBellaF - I checked out that book your rec'd but it's $15 for the nook book :(

I did, however, just buy 2 new ones that I'm excited about: "The Light Between Oceans" by M. L. Stedman and "The Secret Keeper" by Kate Morton.

    Yay for new books!!!

  • @Swazzle - I LOVE Kate Morton!!!

I finished the book at lunch today.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I borrowed it from the library, so maybe you can find it there.

oh!  I bought 6 books at Half Price Books from the Clearance section and paid $10.84 with tax.  OH YES!  they were all either $1 or $2.
  • @CocoBellaF - I haven't read anything by her before. I set a goal of 50 books to read this year and these 2 that I just bought will be 10 and 11.

  • I really enjoy her writing.  also try Lucinda Riley, I found her style was similar to Kate Morton.

O/T, but H's mom is sending me FB chats.  FB tells her I have seen them so I can't hide.
  • For all you FRIENDS lovers out there… This just showed up in my news feed. CLICKY
