Ack!  I'm frustrated talking to newbie brides who think PPDs, wedding receptions after the honeymoon, and improper wording on their invitations is just hunky-dory.  They're heeeere!  (Snark!  Growl! Vent!)

Oh, and my crocus are in bloom.

  • I have daffodils. They're one of my favorites, but for the sad fact that they only last a few short weeks at best.

  • It's all the girls who demanded the "ring by spring." Of course they're special snowflakes and bridezillas.

Daffodils were finally blooming here, but now we're getting another cold snap. MAKE IT STOP ALREADY.

  • I haven't seen our grass in two months. :(
  • I can't remember the last time I saw grass :( We did have a warm up a few weeks ago but there was so much snow that a lot of it didn't melt and then it snowed again. I want to see flowers!
  • My favourite flowers are tulips, which are spring flowers, but I'm not sure any of them are going to be able to poke through the mess of snow/ice that's still covering most of our ground.

  • Grass? What is this grass that you speak of? My FI got me daffodils last year in a pot, so they're sitting on our table getting nice and big. I have a small jungle, which makes me less depressed to look outside and just see SNOW.
  • I love crocuses.  They just make me think of hope and more sunshine is on it's way <3
  • Most people around here still have their Christmas lights up because no one wants to stand in 2 feet of snow trying to take them down. Flowers seem a long way away to me.

But I did hear birds chirping this morning, so that's a good sign!
  • We were at -40 C again earlier this week.  Should hit above freezing by the weekend though.  Fingers crossed it stays!!  I'd take at least -10C.  I want to get into my hot tub again cos my knees are sore from the cold

  • We still have so much snow on the ground. It was 14 degrees this morning. Come on, spring!

And what is with all these newbies wanting to "hire" their friends and families to work their weddings. I feel like I see a new post about this everyday. "Hey, come to my wedding and celebrate with me! Oh, but you also have to be my DOC and also record the ceremony and the first dances and cut and serve the cake." WTF.
  • I don't have a problem with new posters thinking all of those things are okay, because how are they supposed to know better if no one has told them? I have a problem with them not accepting it's rude once we tell them that it's rude.

Also, it will be 75 degrees here today. Send some winter this way, please.

It was 19 here. I have a work function tonight, and I really wanted to wear a super-cute skirt and heels. Then I looked at the mercury and said, 'Nah, no thanks.'

I (faux) hate you. I'll gladly send winter your way if you send spring ours!

You have plants. I have horrible spring allergies and I'd still willingly trade the misery I'll get when my allergies hit for having weather warm enough to have the allergies.

Our weather forecasters have been telling us ALL WEEK, 'This is the coldest March on record! March isn't usually this cold! It's really cold outside for it being March and all!'

  • What's grass? Haven't seen that since October-ish.
  • Grass?
Central Ontario here...my (reasonable) guess for all the snow to be gone? Mid May.
Snow banks in parking lots are still over 40 ft with temps -24 this morning (before windchill)

Co-motherfucking-sign. I have awful allergies. I don't care! I need some warm weather.
  • I live in Central Ohio and it is still cold here but we've had a few days of "warmish" weather and most of the snow is gone except for the massive piles in the parking lots and at neighborhood entrances left by the snow plows.

No flowers poking up from the ground yet but hopefully soon!

But they are plants I need to pull or mow. Not lovely flowers like some people are experiencing. I tell you what though. When it is August, you can go ahead and brag about how beautiful your weather is when I'm swealtering in 110+ heat.

I would love to be outside gardening. Or mowing. Just to be outside for an extended period of time without my face feeling like it's going to freeze off would be amazing.

I don't know about HGF, but August in NY is miserable. 90 degree weather with crazy humidity.

I co-sign the August in NY being miserable. Everyone is just damp all the time from the humidity.

@SBmini -- I don't care. I really don't. I'd still take the weeds (and my accompanying miserable allergies) if it meant I could see green living, growing things rather than dead grass and snow banks and bare trees.

@ClimbingBrideNY -- YES!!! Absolutely!! I just want to be outdoors.

I'm in Central PA, so August isn't our best time of year, and it's about like yours -- hot, humid, muggy. I still love it, though, and prefer it to the cold.

Darn it! I'm on the west coast so there have only been 4 days when I couldn't see the grass, but it rains constantly. However, I'm getting married in Ontario in 1 month and was really hoping for a nice spring wedding with tulips and daffodils coming out, but SO MUCH SNOW means either gross, dirty snow banks or mud and floods:(

I'm in the bay area, so it sucked because last week we had rain, though it is supposed to help with our drought.

ETA: Sometimes I kind of miss winter, and then I remember that I don't. An arizona or So.Cal job might actually be okay with me after all.

  • I'm in Manitoba and its currently snowing again. I've heard its supposed to get close to the positive side of freezing soon but for this entire winter if its been anything nicer than -20 we've gotten snow so I'm a little afraid we're just going to get more snow.

I'd happily take pulling weeds or mowing over shoveling snow. I'll be even less demanding, I just want to be able to go outside without a parka and not freeze to death.
