Van update

The replaced the rear door latch and a blown fuse.  The guy said he'd "come get me to pick up the van."  I said that would be fine if it was just me, but I have 3 kids here. I asked for delivery, but he has to get back to me.  Worst case DH goes to the dealership, gets the van, comes gets us, and we go pick it up.

I'm still waiting for the GM to call me too.  I'm giving him til 3.

Re: Van update

  • You know, I'd be willing to cut some slack about not realizing you have kids in general.

But don't you just kind of assume that if it's a van, that driver more than likely has kids?  I only know one person w/a van who doesn't have multiple children.  It's b/c they have a bull mastiff and that's the only thing big enough for that dog.  (Funny story, she actually took the dog w/her to the dealerships to try out vans).

haha I was thinking the same thing... van = kids... though that being said, I'm thinking about taking my dogs or at least their crate car shopping with me when I go to buy a new one...

Anyways, I hope everything works out for you in the end :)

I'd cut some slack if it was the first time I'd talked to this person, but I've spoken to the same person 4 times and 4 times I've mentioned the kids.  He was also working on the car for a bit and should have seen the raisins.

Then that's just shitty customer service.  Not that they had been doing well on that front to begin with.  There's nothing worse than dealing with someone in this type of situation that just doesn't give a fuck. Make sure to mention it to the manager.
  • What a pack of idiots. I always get customer service feedback forms from the dealership after I go. If you get one, I'd rip them a new one. Aren't car sales driven by repeat business and referrals? I'd let them know you'd be telling people to go somewhere else due to this experience.

:D We did the same thing with our saint bernard.

I would agree that if you've told the same person about the kids multiple times, then that is shitty customer service. I think that having to repeat oneself like that ranks in the top 10 things that make a person feel like a totally unimportant customer.

They are delivering the van.  At this very moment I just realized that at no point did anyone ask if we were in a safe place or if we were ok.
