@Photokitty  I was actually trying to find more pics of Griggs boathouse, and found these.  What do you think of these places, available through Cols Recs and Parks?  They seem to be almost the same - east side and west side option.  I think  they would qualify for a rustic option.  Obviously not barns, but new (so yea for reature comforts) beautiful wood beams ... and ... both allow alcohol!

  • @donethat I added them and the other options for CRP for good measure. I'm hoping this thread helps a lot of brides and we just don't know it :)

  • The barn at the meadows in Orrville
  • Not sure if you consider it close enough to "central" Ohio, but I'm getting married at Burr Oak Lodge in Glouster, Oh.  The lodge overlooks the lake and is surrounded by trees.  You can get married outside at the gazebo or inside with an amazing view through a 20 ft glass wall.  The lodge was just remodled last year and it looks amazing.
  • The lodge at Burr Oak was already cool - I heard the renovations are gorgeous.  Beautiful location for a wedding!

  • A friend just shared this blog entry, featuring a wedding in a covered bridge near Lancaster. Seems to fit in this world Alley Park Nature Center http://aperture-photos.com/gretchen-adam/

Updated with 2 Lancaster location - thanks @donethat

I'm going to leave Burr Oak off since it's not in Central Ohio, but thanks for the suggestion. People will still be able to see it in the thread if they are looking for something further out :)

  • We are using Clintonville Womans Club. Has the cabin rustic feel and very pretty gounds...they also let you bring in your own alcohol and are very open to things. The woman who does the planning is amazing. You can make the place into your own

@emanos‌ Rates don't appear to be listed online. You should call the church to find out about cost and availability. GL!

  • Do you know of any reception locations close to Liberty Barn Church I'm having a wedding there and I don't want my family to have to drive to far to the reception especially since there from out of town and none of us are familiar with the area

My friend had his reception at Northpointe (http://www.northpointecenter.com) after his wedding at Liberty. It is a 4.5 mile drive or 8 mins. Northpointe has on site lodging, but it can be limited depending on how busy they are the weekend of your wedding.

I would also suggest looking at Polaris hotels (Hilton, Sheraton, etc) and ask if they would provide a shuttle to and from the church.

    GL! :)

  • @Photokitty

You might want to add Water's Edge Event Center in Hilliard, OH. It has a very rustic lodge feel, beautiful deck overlooking a lake, exposed beams, a crows nest area.
  • There are multiple country clubs in Powell. Try Kinsale, Scioto Reserve, Wedgewood. There's a conference center on the south side of Powell called Bridgewater.

Try Dorral Farms in Marysville, Ohio.  Great location and owner is very nice to work with. You can bring in your own alochol but must use one of 2 caterers. We chose Janie and she has been great to work with.
