Thinking about meet'ngreet brunch

So, a lot of our guests will have never met. We were thinking of doing a meet and greet brunch either the day before or two days before the ceremony. Depending on what I can find for cost, we are considering hosting it. It's just maybe an hour or two, but we're not sure whether this is considered hijacking peoples' time. I mean people don't have to come, but we just thought it would be nice to have people recognize faces and have a bit of familiarity on the day of. We are staying at Caesar's and I am looking into Serendipity3 as a whimsical cost effective option. We are struggling with whether to host or give approx costs to our guests. I mean, they are travelling for us, so I don't want to seem inconsiderate either. I'm thinking $30 to $40 pp is about the average cost for what we're looking at. Any ideas or stories of your own? Place suggestions welcome! We are doing Maggianos for dinner after the wedding so we want to stay away from Italian.

  • we will be doing a meet and greet on Friday the day before our wedding. We won't be hosting it though but everyone who wants to come is more then welcome. A lot of our guests haven't met either so I thought this would be a good way for everyone to meet before our actual wedding also. We will be having ours in the evening around 7pm to give people time to settle in to their rooms. We chose Senor Frogs at TI. I wanted something on the strip with somewhat of a view that was kid friendly but also fun for the adults too. Also there is no minimum either and we get a reserved seating area on the patio :) Going by the menu on the website the prices are really reasonable. As low as $15pp and the highest I believe is about $30 maybe even less.

  • We are having a meet and greet at the Chandelier Bar the evening before but are not hosting. We are however hosting brunch the day after the wedding at Wicked Spoon.

  • I like $15 - $30 pp lol. Never been to Senior Frogs. Do they serve food at the chandelier bar? I'd like food of some sort. Platters or something I think. I really really wanna go to the chandelier bar at some point!
  • I think the meet n greet idea is fantastic! You shouldnt feel obligated to host. In my opinion FI and I are over-hosting but thats mainly cos each of our guests have spent well over $2000 just to travel to Vegas!

We are having a 'young kids' ie FI and my friends shin dig out on Fremont Street on the Friday night. Fi and I are hosting a cycle pub with our friends buying their own drinks at each pub stop.

On the saturday we are hosting a Taco Cart with free flowing margaritas, beer and call liquor and have also organised a Mariachi Band off strip at the Roadrunner on Flamingo. That is our official 'welcome party'.

Saturday night is the bachelor/bachelorette party that FI and I are hosting with dinner at Comme Ca then the boys are doing an open bar at the Rockhouse then Sapphires while the girls do a Burlesque dance class and a perve fest at the hunk mansion. Then we are hosting table service at an ultra lounge somewhere with the combined group.

I really liked the menu at Serendipity 3 when i was looking into venues and... wow @valerie that senor frogs deal is AWESOME!!

  • Wow, that's crazy, Mo. It sounds fun! Lots of fun! I should throw in the all too common, "can I come?" Lol Yeah we are paying for everyone's trip out to the dam and tour and such the day before the wedding I think. Like you said, everyone is paying to come. This has taken a life of its own!
  • Have you looked at Mon Ami Gabi's brunch menu? We were on the fence about a day after thing but decided we had hosted ENOUGH for guests over the weekend. We also wanted the day after our wedding to just be "our time".

That tour to Hoover Dam sounds awesome! Would that be straight after the brunch?

  • We haven't entirely decided yet what we're doing and when. However, since people are coming from all over I want them to have their time as well.
  • Ditto Mo... Check out Mon Ami Gabi brunch. Packages are on their website.

We want to do a meet n greet  the day before ours too. I think Missmo gave me the idea of Grand Lux Cafe... which is probably what we'll go with. This is what they came back to me with:

    1) Grand Lux Cafe Venetian. We have a Semi-Private Room that seats 100 guests. With groups of 25-40 we split the room in half and use our Private Dining Menu.

    2) Grand Lux Cafe Palazzo. We have a Private Room that seats 80 guests.

Both locations use the same Private Dining Menu, which I have attached.

The Food and Beverage minimum is $1,250.00 plus tax and service fee or $30.00++ per person – whichever is more.

  • I don't know how i missed this thread, we are looking up on the Map right now, zooming in to see how far Senior Frog's is from the Flamingo...does any one know if they have a tram/monorail from the Flamingo to Treasure Island?

  • I think we are going to do Margarittaville since it is in the Flamingo where we are staying and it's kid friendly
