Suede AND patent?

So, I have had my eye on a pair of heels for the last few months. I already own them in black suede but the pair I'm eyeing up are black patent. I can't decide if it is worth it to have two pairs in black in addition to another pair I have in nude. FWIW, I wear heels maybe 5 times per year. Is it vital that I own both suede and patent?

    If you wear heels five times a year, I'd say no. Not that I don't love shoes (because I do), and not that I don't justify owning the same shoe in different colours or styles (because I do). 

    Black suede is fairly versatile. Maybe try to find them in a different colour?

    It depends.

    Are you looking for help in justifying the purchase? If so, you absolutely need them and we can come up with countless reasons why they're necessary.

    Are you trying to be responsible/save money/space/etc? Then no, @HisGirl is correct about suede being very versatile.

    I'm trying be responsible in that I don't want to purchase something that doesn't make sense I really love the shoes, but as I am not a very formal person with fashion, I didn't know if there was really a fmajor difference between suede and patent other than just a different look.

    I would totally do it. I find black suede to me a much darker, luxurious color. So I would often wear them with different outfits or different occasions.

    But I wear heels at least every week.

    Sounds good ladies! I work on an Air Force base, so not exactly the place to wear heels every day to work. Plus, since I'm on business travel, I live out of my suitcase and don't even pack anything fancy or nice since my schedule sucks and I never go out. I'm in bed by 6pm every night. This was just one of those things where I'm trying to have a nice selection in my closet. My wardrobe consists mostly of casual clothing items from J Crew, flats, and flip flops!
