  • Aw congratulations Chipmunk!  Your wedding sounded lovely.
  • Beautiful bride!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Forgot to add another Evil Chipmunk snark on the RD- everyone was standing around chatting, and didn't sit down. DH's family arrived on time. MY family, that is always been huge on punctuality, was late. So it was a little tricky getting everyone seated, especially as we had an odd number of people attending, and the room was a little tight.

DH is standing watching this, and starts whining/bitching/commenting that we could have/should have planned this better, should have made place cards, etc. In front of his family/to his family. I just about whacked him one right on the jaw. I kept my smile on, encouraged him to sit so others would sit too.

Later, he and I had a talk about this. He brought up the "we should have planned this better" part. I reminded him that I did 90% of the work planning and putting together the Wedding and RD, including the little detail touches. (He gets 10% for okaying my ideas, helping me talk to my dad about financing/put together the sample budget, printing some stuff for me, and putting on clean clothes. I'm generous). I explained that it was very hurtful to me to do so much, be going out of my mind trying to have things run smoothly, and all he can do is whine/bitch about the sticky moment of getting everyone seated.

He tried again "well we should have made place cards, like at your brother's RD" at which point I reminded him that we had people invited to the RD unable to make it the week of the wedding, and that we gave in last minute to my dad (who paid for everything) in inviting a friend of his and the wife to the RD, as well as to his folks, who had a friend and wife show up as well for the RD. I finished by saying the next time we had a big party, HE could do everything, and I would sit back and whine over a small, uncontrollable detail.

He finally saw that "planning" the way he thought would have worked (ie place cards) would not really have worked, and that his behavior was rude and hurtful. Communication for the win!
  • Congrats. Aweesome picture!
