Wedding Favor Suggestions?

Hi Ladies!

I'm curious to hear what everyone is doing for there wedding favors.  I've been looking around and pricing things out but I don't want to get a favor that everyone is just going to throw out after they leave the reception/wedding.  I'm expecting about 50 people to show up and don't want to spend too much (ideally no more than $5 per person).  Does anyone have any cute/creative suggestions for a favor?  What are you doing for your guests, I would love to hear about it.  Thanks in advance :)

Re: Wedding Favor Suggestions?

  • We are making bags for our guest and age including flip flops and sunscreen. I know CD's are a little old fashioned but we are putting a CD with all of the couples and our wedding song and a frame.
  • We did a few quasi-favor things.  A few weeks before the wedding, we sent everyone luggage tags.  And then we did welcome bags with assorted items (sunscreen, advil, pepto, aloe, etc.), and then for the table seating, we had wooden maracas that I tied name tags to.  Most people took their maracas, and we took any of the extras and our friends with kiddos took them back to them. :)
  • We are doing welcome tote bags with travel mug (to keep drinks cold and larger cup that holds more drink), small first aid kit, sunscreen/after sun lotion, hangover kit, and some snacks.  I plan to buy some local snacks when I get to the destination to include in the bags. Our wedding ceremony is in New Orleans, so I plan to include some traditional NOLA treats, like praline candy or some Cajon flavored chips. If you want something useful, I'd say to go with something edible that will represent your destination. If everyone is travelling there, they will probably love to experience some of the local favorites.  And it's the best way to make sure you don't end up with several left behind or just thrown away when they get home.

  • We are giving out maracas for our Mexican wedding.

  • We are doing welcome bags with flip flops, sunglasses, and sunscreen in addition to the other things (itinerary, activity information, etc.). We will probably not do a "favor" at the wedding, because really that's just something else for them to take in a suitcase home. Food/candy is kind of pointless, since it's at an all-inclusive resort, but it's an option if you really want something at the reception for people. I know our resort offers the option of using mini bottles of tequila for escort cards, maybe you could do something like that?
  • We are also giving out welcome bags, but for our favors we are giving out maracas as well. I am ordering them off of etsy so they will have our names and wedding date on them along with a tag saying something like "Shake for a kiss!".

They are $5 per maraca on etsy.
