Re: What is the craziest thing you want to do?

  • I wouldn't know. But I can't judge. Someone is bound to jump in and say "um my FI and I were one night stands and we have a great relationship!" And then I'd be mean and judgmental and wrong.

@CLoGreenEyes Dating is not anything like being in a relationship or having a crush on someone. So I can definitely see how it's really kind of terrifying (like, what is this? We just sit and ... talk? How am I supposed to want to bone someone I don't know?). It's like a mix of awkward small talk with strangers when you're stuck at the airport + an interview.

@Phira, thanks for seeing where I'm coming from! Nothing like forcing a conversation with someone you may or may not be hugely attracted to you to make you feel completely socially inept. ETA: I can't even begin to turn that into a not-run-on sentence, so I'm not even gonna try. Apologies.

@Sugargirl1019, I think it makes sense! Haha, I'm trying to explain why, but I have no words. Just...how can you be attracted to someone you don't know much about? What if he's a serial killer? What if he hasn't paid his taxes in three years? What if he has horrible taste in TV shows? Can't know that on the first few dates, usually, so I guess that would interfere with wanting to bone someone you don't know...?

  • @CLOGreenEyes I totally agree with you. Some things are just beyond my understanding!

FI and I woke up in bed together after a night of heavy drinking, and treated it as a one-time lapse in judgment since we were just friends and actively pursuing relationships with other people. And then we got drunk again the next night. More than 12 years later, we're still together!

@Sugargirl1019 Lol FI and I were only supposed to hook up and that was it. We'd never met, though I knew him from high school 9 years earlier. I thought he was pretty darn attractive, my roommate and her sister passed that message along to him and he decided he wanted to hook up with me, no strings attached (both had just gotten out of serious, long term relationships and wanted to have fun). He took me on a date but the whole premise of the date was to have sex at the end. Here we are now, 2 years later and planning a wedding for the fall. No worries though, I don't think you're mean and judgmental :) We completely realize that it's crazy we ended up falling for each other after what was supposed to be a one time thing.

I think if anyone gets the chance to they should get their diving certification and go scuba diving. It was a bit easier for me to get mine because my cousin lives Florida and is a scuba instructor for a living so he taught me. Actually it was him who made me want to go down to see the great whites. He did it in Australia and has some of the most amazing pictures. He said it was the best thing he ever did. @shrekspeare I've always wanted to pet a big cat too! Specifically a tiger. I would so pet an adult though. I think that would be awesome. I'm getting to do one of the things I've always wanted to do. We're hiking to Machu Picchu for our honeymoon. Another thing I want to do is I would love to do some crazy field work. I'm an anthropologist but I spend most of my time holed up in a lab in the museum I work at. I would love to be able to be one of those people who get to spend a couple of years living with the native people in the jungles of South America or something like that. ETA: grrr... They never let me do paragraphs when I'm on my iPad. Sorry.

I would like to learn to sail and scuba dive, but I wouldn't classify those as crazy. I have been bungee jumping before, so I think that cured me of doing crazy things. My bucket list is more of what I would like to see in person (i.e. The Great Wall of China, Mt. Everest, etc..)
  • The craziest thing I want to do is quit a job in a really dramatic fashion. It sounds silly, isn't at all like me, and probably won't ever happen, but I daydream about suddenly standing up, yelling "I QUIT!", overturning a desk, throwing that broken stapler that was the bane of my existence, and kicking a trashcan over on my way out the door.

A girl quit at my old job at Applebee's. She took off her uniform including her socks (wtf? Not like they're emblazoned with Applebee's) and screeched off, hitting the boss' car in the process. Not sure if that last part was intentional or not. Probably, she was pretty cray.

Not so dramatic since it's Applebee's and nobody cares but I still thought I'd share lol.
