I totally wouldn't mind if a friend used my venue.  But I doubt that will happen since it was in a shore resort town and none of my remaining friends have the same ties to the town.  I recommend it to everyone that asks though :).  As for the conversation going around about having the same wedding date - I definitely don't think it is a big deal. A now good friend of mine's brother-in-law got married on the same day two years later and there were pretty upset about it.  However, there were a bunch of etiquette nono's at my friend's wedding....so this behaviors was to be expected.  The way I see it is similar to others - there are 365 days in a year - and when you narrow it down to weekend days (over-generalization, I know, of when weddings are) you are really narrowing things down.  But think about it...if a good friend gets married on the same weekend - you know that group vacations or plans most likely won't be made then since TWO people have their anniversaries then :).

  • My younger sister apparently deserves major brownie points- I used the same church/reception hall (parish hall at the church), the same caterer, bakery, and I even used a few pieces of her centerpieces. Our weddings looked completely different, and no one had a clue. Our weddings were two and a half years apart.

I'm going to give her a big high five next time I see her ;)
