Wedding Woes

How was the weekend?

I want to hear about the V and O meeting!  Anyone else have a good one?  I'd call ours productive- DH did a ton of yardwork.  I got a bunch of stuff washed and put away.  I even found our champagne flutes from our wedding.  I haven't seen them in, well, since our wedding?  I might need to get champagne for our anniversary Wed.

Warning potty talk:

M2 has been a champ with potty training.  Friday morning was a physical battle to put on underwear.  She had 2.5 accidents Friday morning (she was able to stop mid pee so that's only a half) and one accident that night.  She's gone to a movie and shopping and had zero accidents.  I knew she could do it.

Now I don't need to buy diapers for another 6 months.

Oh and we've started permitting for Phase 2 of house remodeling. The permits will be submitted this week and I'm trying to start looking for inspiration.  The room is going to be bigger than I know what to do with so I need to get some paper and start laying things out.

  • The weekend was pretty good. Saturday was busy -- we had the Cherry Blossom Festival in downtown then afterwards we went to a party up in Clarksville that lasted until about 10p. I took our Golden Retriever to the festival and he had a grand time meeting a bunch of other dogs and people. I saw a guy from my Japanese class but never managed to find my Japanese teacher. The party was called Barbeque Motherfucker and is an annual thing with my husband's friends. This year, we partied in the memory of one of husband's friends who committed suicide last month. People actually flew back here to party and it was a ton of fun.

Today, one of the nurses called out, so we get to spread 37 patients amongst three nurses. It's pretty much a fucking nightmare.

  • Pretty nice weeked, a lot of resting and laying around Saturday.  Then on Sunday church, then last night I went to see Wicked with DD.  It was really good, DD has seen it on Broadway and said this one compared very well. I hadn't seen it before and thought it was really good.

  • Peg- Wicked is one of my faves!  I've seen it three times.

6-I'm about to put DefConn in undies and see what he does when he's dirty.  He does not care about bribes.

    Weekend was good.

Friday- I went shopping.  We hung out with our neighbors.

Saturday- We went out for a late lunch/early dinner with the IL's for SIL's bday.  We went to the IL's for cake and ice cream and to hang out.  The kiddo stayed the night.

Sunday-We didn't do much of anything and then went to pick up the kiddo.

We're going to MI next Mon/Tues so I can check the area out.  DH has an in-person interview this week with a company here.  So hopefully we're getting closer to having offers on the table and can make some decisions. In the meantime, I think we're going to start looking into what we need to get the pre-approval process going for a home loan.  That will make house shopping in MI easier, if  that's what we decide on doing. (The price on my dream house dropped! ;)

  • Mine was busy.

Saturday....errands and went to a wedding in the afternoon. Dad had fun with the babysitter, wedding was nice, but we had to leave prior to cake cutting :-/....although I cringe when the vows veer towards the whole submit to husbands and women being treated like a possession passed from one man (dad) to another (husband)...ahhh the traditional Christian wedding.

Sunday, I hit it like a mad mofo in the yard. Got just about everything cleaned up and ready for planting. Good thing I didn't plant much of anything because we have our last hard freeze coming up Wednesday morning...yay!!!!

And this week is Holy Week. And since DD now officially does children's choir, that means she has to be there for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Egg hunt Saturday and Easter Sunday at crack-ass of dawn. This little agnostic might be getting awfully crabby this week.

    Good weekend.
Gave blood, hung out w/ the kiddo...
My toe still hurts, so I'm taking tomorrow off to go to the doc (the horrid ingrown toenail from, eh...December?  that I already went to the doc in a box once for).
And my teeth have been hurting since they worked on them over a week ago--so I'm subsisting on advil.

I had game-night w/ my almost-sis and dthe family so wee child spent the night w/ grandma since she fell asleep before it was time to go; so we invited the whole fam to 'lamb fest' around the corner, at the farm.  Guess whose child is STILL scared of lambs?
    yup.
    There were tears.
  • Friday - we went to and open house at a nearby farm (like, practically in my backyard).  They are trying to boost their wedding and reception business so they were showing off.  Had dinner there and then s'mores around the campfire.  It was a beautiful evening.
Saturday - DD had a soccer game at 10, but we had to be there at 9 for pictures. Except that the organization of this league is a great big clusterf--k and we were supposed to go someplace else for the pictures.  So we just took team pictures with our own cameras - which is fine because it was free...  Then we had to entertain our 5 year olds for the next hour, and balance between keeping their energy levels up for the game, and yet not wear them out so they didn't want to play.  After that we went to IHOP.  For whatever reason, DH loves IHOP.  I hate the place, but played along.
Then DD had ballet class, followed by meeting up with DH at his game club.  Chinese for dinner, got caught up on some DVR'd shows, then bed.
Sunday, we saw Muppets Most Wanted.  It was meh.  DD thought it was funny though and won't stop talking about it.  So that's a nice break from the Frozen obsession.
After DD went to bed last night, we watched episode 1 of True Detective (awesome) and then Game of Thrones (even AWESOMER!!!!111!!)   I stayed up way too late and am totally paying for it today.  Blah.
  • I had some sort of super virus last week, that "mellowed" into a nasty cold over the weekend.

DK was awesome and let me sleep in both days (usually we take turns). DK took Wolverine to an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, hosted by the parents of one of the preschool kids. He had fun - said that the host (father) had tried homebrewing, so they started talking about that. The mom seems nice, so I told DK that we'd have to invite them over sometime for a pool playdate / adult beverage tasting.

DK ran some errands yesterday and I cooked/cleaned a bit - which completely wore me out. If I'm not feeling better soon, we're going to have a completely low-key Easter.

Luckily, this is a 3 day week for me - we have off Friday, and since this would have been my Friday off, I get Thursday off too.
