I'm working behind the desk today. There is a shoe cubby near the desk. One of our customer's shoes (Not entirely sure which pair but I'm giving a pair of sneakers the stink eye) are releasing the most horrible, pungent odor I have smelled in ages. Imagine using a towel to soak up your armpit sweat, then leaving it in a pile of shit for a week. These shoes are just reeking of horrible body odor and shit with this slight wet smell (Like when it rains, and it's all muddy.) This isn't even close to typical shoe smell. These things need to be thrown away. The smell is spreading. GUYS IT'S SO FUCKING STRONG. Now I know how Chihiro felt in spirited away when that friggin stink spirit wanted a bath.
My coworker is desperately trying to help me with the smell. I sprayed the area with heavy duty odor eliminating lysol (When the clients were NOT in the room- this smells horrible but I am not rude enough to let the customers know that) and it did NOTHING. I've sprayed like 5 times now and this smell won't die! I currently have a candle between me and the keyboard and I'm keeping my face right by it. (Not noticeably leaning in, it's just right by me. You can't see me unless you walk right up and look down over the desk anyways) If I move my face it reeks. When I get home I am febreezing the carpet and lighting candles and just rolling around in the good smells.
Oh, and an unattended toddler (Sibling of the birthday girl) just broke something. It was a mug that we keep pens in for parents to sign forms. We were PROMISED that this kid would be watched. I'll just get back to sticking my face in this candle.

Re: What is getting on your nerves right now?
Now she is promising to bring my dress to me at work tomorrow. Three days before my wedding.
But, I feel you. My seamstress went BSC on me too. She had the hem done on my gown and had fixed the bodice, so I wanted it for my bridals. She flipped out, but I stood firm, and took it. Was careful, had a (maybe) minor stain on the underside of the train (like I give a flying eff).
Then it was like pulling teeth to get it back to her so she could finish the bustle AND do the steaming. My mom kept trying to coordinate with her, and the woman kept putting her off. Basically, she wanted my mom to pick my gown up the day BEFORE my wedding.
Yeah. No.
And when my mom went to pick it up 2 days prior to my wedding, the damn woman hadn't done the FINAL steaming on it. By that point, I just wanted my damn dress. Mom took it, we paid the bill and were glad to get it.
Seamstresses seem to be so hit or miss. They're either awesome, or freaking nutjobs.
Three things are annoying me right now
1. It snowed two inches last night, it was 80 on Saturday. Will spring ever come?
2. I made a smoothie for breakfast this morning, went to walk the dog and dropped it.
3. UO: I get irrationally annoyed when I see anyone over the age of 10 wear pigtails. They never look cute, just childish.
I guess I'm just a bit of a pushover and felt cowed by the fact that she had my dress and so I'd better not make her mad. And fearing < 1 week before the wedding was too soon to find anyone else. In retrospect I wish I had refused and kept the non-fitting dress, and begged my mom to fix it... She's not a professional or anything, but at least she has my trust
Here's hoping I get it today.
1. The printer screwed up part of my invitation order and decided to hold back the ENTIRE order, without consulting me, while they reprinted an enclosure card. I would have asked that they ship it separately. I had a few choice words for them, as if it does any good.
2. As a result of #1, my calligrapher is behind and I have to regretfully pressure her to rush so that I can get it all into the mail.
3. Why is it so f'ing hard to browse belts and veils? Everyplace wants an appt for it, but is booked solid. I'm a big girl, I can look through options quickly and determine if anything strikes my fancy. I don't need some sales girl trailing me around the store.
4. This crappy rain. I have to walk several blocks to the post office to weigh my invites, etc so I can order postage. Can't wait to do it in this downpour.
I saw a tourist in her mid 20's wearing pigtails on my way to work yesterday morning. It was not cute.
I am shocked by how often I see this. There is a woman who is probably 65 ish at my gym. She wear pigtails everyday. I just want to shake her.
(although ngl sometimes I put my hair into pigtails and then 2 small buns for working out, because I hate getting my hair sweaty.)
It's one of those situations where I CAN'T FUCKING STAND the clowns I work with, but can't leave the job until after the wedding, and then feel terrible guilt because I should be thankful I even have a job.
(That's right, ladies. A wine glass holder for your shower.)
