FRIDAY!!!!

We made it!!! What are your plans for the weekend? I hope this day flies by, this week has been dragging!

Tonight nothing planned, just working out, cooking dinner and relaxing.

Tomorrow I'm picking up my dress!!!!!!! I can't wait to try it on again! After that, cleaning the house while FI works some overtime.

Sunday I have nothing planned since I originally was going to drive my MOH and her H to the airport and it would've taken most of the morning. I find out YESTERDAY that a week ago, her H decided he was going to just drive to the airport. Um, thanks for telling me three days prior???? Anyway, FI and I might go buy some plants for our flower boxes or I might just do laundry and be lazy.

Re: FRIDAY!!!!

  • this morning I have a doctor's appt about the dizziness.  I'm not sure if I'll end up going to work or not afterwards, just depends on how I feel... plus I'm off at 2 PM anyway.

H and I are dog-sitting my mom's pup this weekend.  she is CRAZY, so I need to make sure there's nothing within her reach that she can devour.

today is my Bella's 6th birthday, so I'm going to stop by the gourmet doggie place and pick up a few treats to celebrate tonight.  we're also just getting groceries and grilling out steaks tonight.

tomorrow morning I want to plant all my seedlings (we've had a late season frost this week so I held off on planting)... and then that evening we're having friends over to eat roast duck, so I'll spend the afternoon/evening cooking and eating duck.

Sunday we have church and I'm supposed to make rice for 30 people for my brother's work Cinco de Mayo lunch.

and that's it!  I'm excited for a quiet weekend...  looking forward to lots of sleep.
  • This week has been dragging!!

Tonight after work I'm going to my grand units for an early birthday dinner and cards.

Other than that, I have no idea. Considering bf that my birthday is Monday.... Idk what is going on lol
  • Nothing too exciting planned for this weekend. Probably just packing and getting ready for the move. I am hoping that we tie up all loose ends today and get a set closing date. If I hear "I'll know more tomorrow" one more time this week I am going to go ape shit on my lender.

BF and I are going to make sure to get the puppy out this weekend too. Because of the weather we haven't been able to walk much this week so we want to make sure she gets out and gets some exercise. That's another reason I'm dying to get into this house.. so the puppy can run free in our fenced in yard.

Hopefully my car will be fixed today, and with little to not cost to me - fingers crossed.  Tonight we're watching the second round, first game of playoff hockey for our NHL team.  Go Pens!  We might back out of watching it at his friend's house and just watch it at home.  They have a tiny house and ended up inviting several other people and kids, so it might not be what we're up for tonight.

Tomorrow we have our first babysitting gig together watching his first and only nephew who is 7 months old.  We're both looking forward to it.

Sunday is a blank slate, but we usually do chores/grocery shop and laundry on Sundays.

    @IrishDreamer - happy early  birthday!!!!

  • @cocobellaf I hope you feel better! I would just take the rest of the day off since you leave at 2pm ;)

    @irishdreamer happy early birthday!

@caseface5 the same thing happened to me when I bought a house, but once everyone had their I's dotted and T's crossed, the process went by so fast!!! It felt like I was going to live out of boxes forever but honestly it was a month, six weeks top maybe.

  • This was such a long week, TGIF.

Today at work we are having a Mexican themed pitch-in for a therapist who is leaving. I brought cheesy taco rice. I can't wait to eat all the yummy food.  FI is playing tonight with his band so he won't be home until 9-10 :\  This makes me sad, but I need to run to the mall to get a white headband so I can make my wedding headband and I'll probably shop for my momma's Mother's Day gift.

Tomorrow my parents are coming into town to visit FI and I and they have offered to take us out to lunch. I'm excited to see them. I'm not sure what we're doing tomorrow evening.  We havent had our weekly date night yet so we may do that.

On Sunday we have nothing planned.  FI has to play in the worship band at church but other than that, we are free.

  • Thanks ladies!! I'm hoping to sleep in a bit tomorrow- and I'm hoping bf and I can do a nice dinner on the beach or something
  • YAY FRIDAY!!! This week FLEW by for me, I love it.

I have a busy weekend planned. I'm probably leaving the office at 2 today to go babysit the kid. I think we're going to go to the mall and try on clothes. Tonight, FI and I will be cleaning the apartment like CRAZY. Maybe we'll even drive up to Target or Home Depot and buy new curtains for the living room like we've been talking about doing. I will also be wrapping the corners of every table/cabinet with bubble wrap, since we are babysitting for a 2 year old tomorrow.

Tomorrow, a good friend/ex-CW of mine will be dropping off his son at my place around 9am while he and his wife go see a condo for sale about 10 minutes away. I'm hoping they love it and put in an offer, because it would be great to have a friend living nearby. If it's nice out, maybe we'll take the baby to a park or something. I am super duper excited to see FI interact with a toddler. He claims he is 100% ready for kids, but I think watching a two-year-old for a few hours will change his mind! Also, tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby, so we'll probably make some drinks and spend the rest of the afternoon watching coverage and making bets against each other.

Sunday I'm driving out to LI (not sure if FI is coming yet), to go see a wedding venue with my mom. She and my stepdad went to see this place a couple of weeks ago and loved it, so I am reeeeaaally hoping I do too. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed!

  • @Buddysmom80- Yay for picking up your dress!!! Will this be your first fitting or is the dress complete and it's in your possession until the wedding?

Tonight we are still puppy sitting so we don't have much planned besides going to CrossFit and cooking dinner.

Tomorrow is kind of a busy day for us. Saturday morning I plan to do a quick workout and maybe clean some. Then we are going to an early BBQ with some of our CrossFit friends. My friend is picking up her puppy around the afternoon and then H and I are going to the Braves Game with some of his friends from college.

Sunday we are going to church early that morning because afterwards we are going to do the inspection on our house. We are going to be super picky because when we first visited the home we noticed a few paint discolorations on the wall. I don't know if they have fixed that or not but I want to make sure we aren't blamed for anything that was left there before us. Afterwards I may go for a run in the park and maybe dinner with the parents.
  • @southernpeach89, I know I have to try it on at the store, but I won't have fittings until the end of the year after I (hopefully) lose some more weight. I know that I need a bustle, my sash sewed in so it doesn't move around and a way to make sure the long line bra doesn't show, but I'll wait and have all the alterations done later.

  • I cannot wait for this day to be done! I've been feeling drained and tired all week, the crappy weather is making me just want to stay in bed! Today I am either getting a cold or my allergies are out of control...either way I sort of just want to go home.

Tonight BF and I have nothing planned and I want to keep it that way! I think we're going to order in and watch a movie or something and just go to bed early.

Tomorrow morning I have laundry and cleaning to do, and then hanging out with my sister (yay!). Going to spend some time with the parentals and then sister and I are going shopping for Mother's Day. I also need to shop for BF's birthday, so hopefully I can get both gifts done on Saturday...except for the small detail where I have no idea what to get him! Then sister and I and both our BFs are going out for dinner and going to see Spiderman 2.

Sunday is church and stuff with BF's family and more church. I could literally copy and paste that for most Sundays.

  • Yay Friday is finally here, this week has been long awful and just dragging.  Tonight I have to be at the theater for the show we are running to run concessions.  I miss the Rangers game which is annoying.

Tomorrow we have our friend's son's one year old birthday party so we will stop by for awhile there and scope out the park it's in which is near by our church for any photo ops for the wedding.  After that no other plans, but probably some cleaning of the house though, it needs it. Sunday we have church and we have to meet with our priest to finalize details of the wedding and all.  No other plans on Friday other than finishing up some yard work.

We need to work on choosing music to for the reception.  So my dad and I are trying to come up with a song for our dance, he keeps sending me this song.  I love the lyrics the song just sounds very dated.  I like it because my dad likes it a lot, but there is another song I like better so I don't know which song to pick.  I hate when I get hung up on little details like this.....grrrrrr

    Anniversary

  • @Buddysmom80- Ah I see! I had to have a bustle on my dress too which broke during the night lol.
  • @Buddysmom80 - Yay!  Picking up the dress is exciting!

    @IrishDreamer - Happy early birthday!

@lmcooper96 - What are your rough gift ideas? How old is he turning?

@Peaseblossom55 - I know what you mean about getting caught up on the small details.  What song is it?

Today I got up early to workout (6 am...not fun) and now I have a super busy day at work.  Tonight I'll take the train from Milwaukee to Chicago back to H and the dog.  H is picking me up a salad I love at a Chicago place and ordering take-out for himself so we will veg together drinking wine and eating our respective food.

Saturday we have our home inspection for our home sale!  Keep your fingers crossed it goes well, ladies!!! I'll be cleaning and running errands before the inspection then take a nice long walk with H and the dog during the inspection.  Sat night we will maybe go out for drinks with friends.

Sunday I'm buying a heart rate monitor for my new workout program (working with some new trainers).  Then I'll get a workout in and cook food for H and the dog for Monday-Wednesday until I can return back home.  Hitting bed early that night so I can wake up in time to catch the 6 am train back to Milwaukee on Monday morning.

  • @Buddysmom80 - yaaaay! I got the call my dress arrived at the bridal shop yesterday so I'm hauling ass over there after work to pick it up. First fitting isn't until the 21st so I'll have a few weeks to gawk at it in the closet before alterations begin.

@CocoBellaF - we're dog sitting this weekend, too. A hundred pound GSD "puppy". It's going to be a loooooong weekend with 3 dogs in the house.

@IrishDreamer - Happy almost birthday week!!

Pretty low-key weekend (fingers crossed). Tomorrow future SS has his championship swim meet so we'll go to that to root him on. Then I'm hoping we can swing by a beer fest that's happening in a nearby park. It's supposed to be a beautiful day so sun & beer would make for a nice afternoon. Sunday I want to do nothing but sleep & be lazy.

    TGIF, ladies!

  • @peaseblossom55 which songs are you narrowing down for the father/daughter dance? The only song I can come up with for us is Cat Stevens "Wild World" which my dad hates because Fox News doesn't like Cat Stevens....

@southernpeach89 how many bustle points (is that's what they're called?) for your dress? My dad's old assistant's sister was a seamstress and said with the type of dress I have that they would have to put up to nine so that it looks right. Now I'm stressed!

@buddysmom80 I'm so jealous your dress is in! Please AW some pics of you in YOUR dress? They said not to expect mine until July...le sigh....

Today is quiet for me. I'm meeting a friend for lunch and then FI and I need to spend some serious time this evening catching up on house maintenance. We've both been slacking. We also need to bottle his first ever batch of beer. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be very good. Our house was staying really stable temperature wise but then we kept having a bunch of cold fronts come through at a very unseasonable time and I think we killed off the yeast....so I guess we'll see what the result is. I guess it's our first time so it's not a big deal if the beer totally sucks.

Tomorrow is super busy! I'm running a 5k with FI and my friend first thing in the morning. My goal is to do it in 30 miinutes or less. Afterwards we'll get breakfast somewhere and then go home and shower and then I have to leave again right away for my hair and makeup trial. My mom is joining me as well to have a hair trial. She has a very very thin face and a big forehead and she's really self conscious about trying an updo or anything other than her normal style so we both decided it was important to do a trial run for her hair too. After the hair and make up trial is over FI and I are going out to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. Our anniversary was actually on Wednesday but we decided to wait until Saturday to celebrate since my hair and makeup will be extra pretty. We're going to go out somewhere totally spontaneous for dinner and afterwards we're going to get coffee at the coffee shop we had our first date at. So excited!

Sunday we don't have any plans. We'll probably focus on cleaning the house and doing some much much much needed yard work.

  • @buddysmom80 & @minskat30 I love the song "I loved her first", my dad loves the song "Angel in my arms" by Joe Pizzulo

  • @Niccirf my dress has remained at the salon I ordered it from which is probably a good thing otherwise I would be putting on all the time.  I already wear my veil around the house sometimes if FI isn't home.

@lmcooper86 What interests does your BF have? Would he enjoy something like a gift card for an experience? Like to a shooting range/clay pigeon range? Or tools? I've been circulating between a few different gifts for FI. I buy him soccer jerseys, really nice chef's knives, beer making stuff, and lately some woodworking tools.

  • Tonight- nothing planned; make dinner relax??

Saturday:  Nessie goes to the groomer, so chill at home with Loki for 4-5 hours until Nessie is done.  Work from 4-Finish.

Sunday - Going out with FSIL and FI's Brother's GF.  We're going to see 'Other Women' and probably get dinner.

  • @peaseblossom55 I just listened to those songs, they are so nice!!!! That is totally not the relationship my dad and I have! Hahahaha! We're not close at all! My mom suggested Nancy Sinatra's "It's For My Dad" too which is kind of nice.

I have a feeling picking music is going to be such a stressful thing for me!

  • Wise choice, @Peaseblossom55! Mine was supposed to be shipped mid-May so I was excited to hear it came in early. I haven't seen it since January and I'm dying to get it on again but my new mantra is, "I will NOT play dress up everyday. I will NOT play dress up everyday." We're gluttons for punishment to be keeping ours in the house, @buddysmom80 ;)

  • @buddymom80 did you like any song better than the other? The other options we both liked was unforgettable.

Just thinking about dancing any of those songs makes me tear up.  I am going to be a big sobbing mess the entire day.

  • @buddysmom80- From what I know my bustle only had 4 or 5 points. I couldn't seem them all when she showed me but when my little sister went to bustle my dress after we thought it had fallen, she could only find 3 points so the other couple had broke.

Sounds like your mom might be my brother! He is notoriously terrible about getting in touch with anyone for birthdays (or getting in touch with our mom for Mother's Day). Last year, he called on my birthday and was like, "See? I called!" And it's like, congratulations, you remembered to call me, in the age of Facebook birthday reminders, after forgetting for the past three years.

I am looking forward to the weekend. I'll most likely be working, at least tomorrow. We'll also be spending the weekend putting the apartment back in order. We managed to get most of the kitchen crap back into the kitchen (it is alarming how little J knows about where things go in the kitchen), but I ran out of energy before I could put the bathroom stuff back in the bathroom, or clean up the office. We basically pushed a bunch of stuff off my desk to make way for kitchen stuff, so there's all sorts of important crap in a pile under my desk.

At some point, we will bring birdo home. The apartment is too quiet without him around and it makes me sad.

I had a really rough night last night (feeling overwhelmed at work and having all sorts of family problems), so I was up till about 4 am winding down. Coffee has happened but has not kicked in!

@LaPeanut1018 my BF has this really annoying habit of buying what he wants for himself! I actually had to forbid him from buying himself anything for the last couple weeks. He unfortunately has expensive hobbies, and can support them himself, whereas I'm all

    image

Since he has more drums (hobby...hello, expensive!) and hats and tools (works construction) than he possibly needs, an experience or event might be my best bet. I just looked online and there's actually a Blue Jays game in Toronto on his birthday, so I might get tickets for that and take us out for dinner before hand. This is sounding like the best plan unless I come up with something genius this weekend!

Edit because I do actually like grammar
