    Did the speaker give any feedback?  I'm guessing people were probably really fidgety having to stand and weren't really engaged in the presentation.

    He did ask why attendance was so low. I kind of dodged that question and said, 'Well, it's a bad time of month and there were conflicting networking events...'

    The reality is that attendance was down by almost 40% from normal because this topic was already irrelevant to most of my membership, and the crappy conditions just meant the people who DID come left early.

    Wait, no chairs, undercooked bacon, and an irrelevant topic?  Yikes.  I'm a very critical conference/lecture attendee because I have been to a ton of them.  If there was a survey to fill out I would have written a novel.

    i would have found someone from the hotel or building the event was in and demand that more tables and chairs be brought in

    1. Not my event -- 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'

    2. It wasn't a hotel, and it was an otherwise empty building, so there was no one of whom I could make such demands.
