I don't mind :) It took 5 visits. 1. The consultation 2. Zoom Whitening 3. Upper teeth 4. Lower teeth 5. Check up

First he insisted I should have the ZOOM whitening done, to make my teeth as white as possible. This was honestly the worst part. It was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life-and for 8 hours after the whitening, it felt like a lightening bolt striking through my jaw every 5-10 minutes. Also, it was pointless. It made my teeth look so much worse-like speckled eggs.

I had my top 6 teeth done and my lower 4. My top teeth were pretty straight, the bottom were a mess. The top took about 2.5-3 hours, the bottom less than 2. He did have to shave my teeth down to smooth them out-some of the bottom ones were shaved down a LOT to make them straight. He used some general anesthesia so it didn't hurt at all, even after everything wore off. My teeth were a little extra sensitive for a day or two both nothing horrible, it's not like I had to eat mashed potatoes for days.

I think I had the top and bottom done about a week apart. About two months after having it done, one of my top teeth had a chunk come off while flossing, but he fixed that for free. Any problems in the first 6 months were a free fix. So far two years later I haven't had to go back for anything. He told me every 5-10 years I will need some "maintenance" but it's so much less expensive than veneers, I am really happy with the results.

  • I've had eye surgery, but I don't consider that cosmetic I guess, since it's not changing how I look.  It was the best decision I ever made, though I technically have a prescription again.  I just haven't filled it cos I don't feel that I need it (and I don't ant one).  My Dr. said it's if I have trouble driving at night, which I don't.  He said it would make things a little sharper, but I didn't need it if I wasn't bothered while driving.

I've occasionally dreamed of lipo on my hips/thighs, but I don't think I could ever go through with it.  I kinda think that if you're not happy now, you'll find something else to not be happy about after anyway.  I'm not really a fan of plastic surgery at all, unless it's reconstructive (after an accident, cancer, medical reasons, etc.) or unless it breast reductions cos you have medical issues.  Doing it purely for looks just doesn't appeal to me

Rhinoplasty, but that related to breaking my nose several times and I was dropping into dangerous oxygen levels even with a cpap at night.

I debate a small reduction to balance my boobs, but recovery from cyst removal was so icky for me, I haven't wanted surgery again.

I had the migraine surgery so I look like I botoxed or had a brow lift at times, but didn't.

LASIK because I was forever breaking my glasses at work, couldn't wear them in sports and am a HUGE chicken about putting contacts in after trying them and having a nasty reaction to the solution years ago. Same as reduction - eye ulcer to the point of needing my eyelid stitched closed ruined contacts for me.

But did you change the external look of your nose? Correcting it to make breathing easier/possible should have been internal.

I know a girl growing up who had a pretty brutal looking nose. She broke it one day on the playground and broke it. She needed surgery but insurance only covered the internal stuff so after surgery it looked just as brutal. Unfortunate!

Ugh, whitening. I had a professional whitening done and it was almost entirely pointless. Like, my teeth were a little bit whiter, but it wasn't like "omg look at how white my teeth are!" And, uh, since I started drinking coffee, we're back to where we started. I might do a little bit of baking soda + peroxide to clean off whatever the coffee's done before I get bonding, but I'm not interested in pouring a lot of money into whitening.

I am shocked at how expensive veneers are! I'm glad I wouldn't need those. I've only got two teeth that need bonding, so I'm hoping that the cost won't be too terrible.

I had a breast reduction at 21 and it was the best decision.   It was the right decision for me and I have never regretted it.  I got boobs early and they never stopped growing.  When I was about 19-20, I gained some weight and they got even bigger. I lost the weight but the boobs remained (I am 5'1, they were about a 34E when I got my reduction- I had them taken to a 34B and they are now 34 large B/small C).   Now I am able to be much more active and don't suffer the back pain that I did throughout my teen years and luckily, despite weight fluctuations, they have stayed proportional to my body at all times.

I will probably have Lasik once I am done with school.  I have always wanted a nose job but I will probably never get one because I worry that I would just keep wanting more surgery to fix my face.  I have gotten used to not liking my nose, I would hate to discover I hated something else about my face instead.
  • Yeah, the cyst was in my breast. Surgery was needed because of location, I'd ruptured the stupid thing repeatedly by underwire bras. Which is also part on the extra crap. I'm really heavy so no bra hurt but any bra that fixed that irritated the area. I have other cysts, my mom had them also. None of the rest have been a problem.
  • My rhinoplasty did include external. Mostly because I had my bridge flattening out which is what was killing my oxygen levels.
  • My insurance will cover a breast reduction. I find them annoying and uncomfortable now but don't a need to fix them. I hope to have kids someday and I assume that will exacerbate the problem. I'll probably get them bobbed at that point.

While not exactly surgical, I've been fascinated by the idea of microdermabrasion. I'm a little scared of it though.

  • I've never had anything done. I don't have any current plans to do anything, but I'm not saying I never will either. We will see what happens in the future.

A girlfriend just got a boob job couple weeks ago. I haven't seen what she looks like now, but we were pretty even body wise. I would like to go up at least 2 cups (damn barely B's and 40-something" hips). I'm so tempted to ask to see them so I can get a good idea. I'm 22 and feel completely disproportional, but I highly doubt I will ever go through with it. I don't like the idea of having rock-hard breasts (Mean Girls).

  • I've considered a boob job, but I'm very small framed and I think anything bigger then what I have would look kind of silly on me. Plus...I go bra less a lot and I like that. If they were bigger, I probably wouldn't be as comfortable. And FI likes them how they are.

I have had a nose job, because I broke it in a fight in high school and then never had it properly set so it healed...oddly. So I had it fixed when I was 19. It really doesn't look at that different, just a bit straighter now.

I've also had laser hair removal done on my underarms. I'm very fair haired and my body hair doesn't grow very fast. So it wasn't a big issues, but I was always forgetting to shave my underarms. And I love tank tops so this wasn't working well. I'd raise my arm and go "Oh for fucks sake!" realizing I'd forgotten again. So I did laser a few years ago and I'm so happy I did it. Not sure I'd do it anywhere else though.

I might consider something more down the line. There's nothing I really want done now, but I'm not ruling it out. Probably nothing too much, I'm not a huge fan of surgery.

@MagicInk I wish I could go braless. One of my best friends has pretty small breasts, and she often forgets to wear a bra. I am so jealous.

I had a breast augmentation when I was 25, I'd lost about 40 lbs. and wanted them filled back up. So I researched and researched and got it done. I'm very happy with it. Recovery was easy (maybe because of my age, maybe I recover easily from surgery). I would consider small things here and there. I don't have a self esteem problem, for the record...
  • I had a breast reduction when I was 21. I don't regret it at all. I have a small waist so I had trouble finding clothes that would fit right. Plus doing ballet with bigger boobs was not fun.

I inherited a weird pocket of fat under my chin. I'm not overweight by any stretch of the imagination, but often when I smile, I have a double chin. I was just talking to husband this weekend about seeing how much it would cost to suck that out. Because it is really obnoxious when it ruins an otherwise awesome photo.

And I may get a bump up in the chest area after kids. We'll see.

  • I have rosacea and I'm considering eventually doing the PDL treatment to zap the damn capillaries that cause the redness.

I'd really love to have my spider veins treated. . .  I see some 60+ year old ladies walking around in the summer with gorgeous legs and it kills me!  I don't wear shorts or short skirts/dresses w/o pantyhose because of it.

Has anyone had spider veins treated?

  • @magicink Yea if you enjoy not wearing a bra, it wouldn't be good for you. My friends who all have augmentations have to wear sports bras 24/7 because of the weight. One friend even wears a bikini halter as her bra because she can't handle the weight on the shoulders all the time. She wears it to bed and everything. Doesn't seem like fun to me (I'm also a small B and very used to not wearing a bra except to work). But these girls all got Pam Anderson boobs, not a natural looking size on thier tiny bodies.

  • I just had a breast augmentation in February.  I debated it for about 2 years and finally decided to do it.  I don't regret it one bit!  My breasts were a 34B to begin with, so I did have a fair amount of tissue already, but they are very narrow and wide set.  Due to that, I was only able to get 320 cc's...but that was fine because I didn't want anything huge anyway.  So now I am a full C/maybe a D (at Victoria's Secret I measured a 32DD last week, but their sizes run small).  My body just looks so much more proportionate now, and my boobs look so natural on my body frame.

I got the Sientra gummy bear implants, and they are soft and feel natural--no hardness to them at all.  I did subpectoral since it's safer for mammograms and I will still be able to breastfeed.  (Though I will probably want a lift after breastfeeding.)  My only issue now is that they're still a little wide-set, so I wish I could've gone a little bigger.  But I'm still very happy with them, as is my FI.  ;)

Hey go big or go home!

FI gets a little jealous when I get ready and don't have to deal with a bra. Or when I buy bras from the girls section because they fit me and are much cheaper. Plus fun!
