Tell me the biggest most exciting thing that has happened to you lately!

I'll go first.

We got pre approved for a house loan! Yaaaay! We went to an open house on Sunday just to practice house looking and we have an appt on Saturday with a realtor recommended by H's boss (the entire department is moving here from out of state so this lady has worked with a LOT of them lol). So excited!!

H's credit score is 11 PTs higher than mine which is lame. However both lenders were impressed with our awesome scores (likely because we look like we are 20 instead of 29?) so it was a fantastic day!

That's awesome @Blue !!! So exciting! I wish H and I could buy our house right now but we still have a bit more to save so hopefully next year the price won't go up too much.

I guess the most exciting thing that has happened lately is that H and I are going to go look at some newborn yellow lab puppies in two weeks. I found a shelter where they are up for adoption that's about an hour from us and the lady said that they are still getting their shots so in two weeks we should be ok to come visit and play with them. I think she also mentioned in about 5 weeks they would be available to take home so hopefully when we go visit we can ask some questions and possibly end up taking a puppy home with us in a few weeks after that!!! EEEKKK!!

@blue Congrats! That is very exciting news. Credit scores are so crazy, BF has no loan debt but his score is less than stellar due to being an irresponsible teenager with a credit card. I have $50,000+ in student loan debt, but my rate is great because I pay timely. He doesn't get it at all, but he has been working to turn it around and has done great so far. Happy house hunting!

@southernpeach89 PUPPIES!! I keep trying to get BF to let us adopt a yellow lab brother for our Tessie girl but he thinks one is enough. I'm hoping once we move in and get Tessie out in the fenced in yard, he might change his mind. Please keep us updated on the pup!

I haven't gotten any good news lately. This whole waiting to close business is driving me crazy. The selling realtor told us on Friday that she was "too busy" to send over paperwork we needed, to which my realtor went crazy about. She had to talk to her sternly and let her know that she had no choice and had to send the paperwork. The SR then told us she didn't know how to send it as an attachment in an email. My R told her to go to staples to do it because it had to be done, LOL. So after that nightmare of a morning, the underwriter got all our paperwork Friday afternoon. Now we are just waiting for them to schedule a closing date. I'm crossing everything that we hear today!!!!

@Southernpeach89 - Keep in mind, pictures or it didn't happen!!

No news for me - just problems with the new renters next door and keeping their kids off my property. UHG, I hate being 'THAT' neighbor, but my one dog is pretty aggressive and I think he would attack a person who was uninvited on the property.

Beside getting the ring, I found an apartment! It's a room to rent with an older woman, but she doesn't mind if FI stays some nights and weekends and she's really chill and it's close to the barn I ride at.

WOO HOO! Congrats @Blue!

Nothing so exciting has happened here but I did get two pieces of good news yesterday - my clients want to stay with the company I work for for FY15 (but their board still has to approve it) AND we're getting a new senior account director to help us with the clients, and she's amazing.

@TwoDimes I KNOW RIGHT?! That was my same thinking. She sent it to the lender by taking a picture of the document and pasting it right into the email. If you clicked on it you could print it as a photo but it was so blurry and blown up that it was unusable. We told her to scan it and add as an attachment and that is when she said "I don't know how to do that! And I don't have time I'm busy all day!" But she did go to staples.

The icing on the cake was her text yesterday saying "I'm puzzled as to why this is taking so long?" Her name is Rita and lately I sound like Tom Brady running around yelling "RITA!!"

I don't know of any big good news lately really..... just average stuff along the way really.

ETA I got one, I got my wedding band on Sunday and it's so gorgeous. It's was really expensive but I'm so glad we chose this band. It goes perfectly and I can't wait to wear it.

@Twodimes- We want a male dog and H is a big Braves fan so he are naming our first dog after Greg Maddux so we will name the dog Maddux and if get another one we will name him Hudson after Tim Hudson lol. My H LOVES baseball.

@Blue & White Congrats on your pre-approval! Keep in mind that unless you gave the bank a certain amount you want to spend on a home that they may have pre-approved you for more than you'd be comfortable paying every month on a mortgage. FI and I told the bank we wanted to buy a house for x amount or less and that's what our pre-approval letter was for. They would have pre-approved us for a ton more but we didn't want to have to pay a huge monthly mortgage so we limited ourselves to a certain price point.

I don't have much news. One of my BFF's is getting married Saturday though! I am sooooooooo excited to go to her wedding at a winery!

I've got nothin' of any excitement. I did sleep for more than 4 hours for the first time in a week so my mood has drastically improved. I suppose that'll be exciting for my staff as I'm sure they were tired of dealing with my pissy self.

The most exciting thing for me is that BF told me last night he has been looking at diamonds online! I randomly brought up the fact that if he got a cushion cut diamond, I would prefer square over rectangular. Well then he said "I don't really want to tell you much, but the other day I was looking at diamonds online and they are really expensive!"

I'm starting a permanent position at my work this week. (I was hired in Sept with a 1 year contract) I'm not necessarily excited about it, but it's good to have a job I just don't know what to expect yet.

@caseface5 - Ugh, you'd be surprised how many real estate agents don't know how to work technology. It's mind boggling.

We adopted the kitten yesterday! His name is Simon and he's freaking adorable!

Here he is with his sister from his foster home. They were two peas in a pod. We might adopt her as well. We will see though.

But we did come home to a house with no AC which totally sucks considering it was 90 yesterday and in the 90s again today. But they came by and fixed it this morning, so I'm freaking ecstatic!

Yes we have such awesome news as of late!! And yea @lapeanut1018 both pre approval places wanted to pre approve us for more lol but we took what seemed reasonable and comfortable for us. If we have to change it we will but this is a good price range hopefully.

My biggest news this week is I have another job interview.. but this time I WANT THE JOB SO BAD! The last one I had I was meh about, but really just wanted to not be unemployed anymore and I took the news pretty badly when I didn't get it... so.. I'm nervous!

@Blue & White @BreMR Haha, yeah it is...but I am not letting myself obsess about it. I asked him to not tell me when he actually gets it though, I don't want to get myself all worked up expecting it and end up disappointed if it doesn't happen right away.

Well, time for me to jump on the raise bandwagon as well. BF got a raise last week, but even better is that I also got a raise, and a decent bonus! We went apartment hunting on Saturday downtown, and fell in love with a place. We already put a deposit down and get to move in in almost exactly a month! I am so excited, because the apartment complex feels more like a hotel (It has it's own concierge and a rooftop pool with a city and bay view!) then an apartment, cuts our commute time to work in half, and it's in a fun area!
