    No jeans! Jeans=casual. 
    Except that most people have formal weddings and not a single person is in a floor length gown. 

    Cocktail dresses are formal dresses, they just aren't black tie attire.  Formal does not automatically = black tie/ballgowns and tuxes.  Semi Formal is a stupid, meaningless term that only confuses ppl.

    Darn this is why I usually avoid reddit wedding threads - it's just bad karma for me.
    I've tried to tell myself to make my point and then move on. Continuing to argue over your etiquette point results in too many downvotes (although I'm doing pretty good in that thread today)

    I actually love this party theme.
    Of course intentionally ironic.  Actually started as an accident (I don't think the pants were out of the dryer, so he put on shorts), but ended up being the party theme.  The pictures were fun, so I'm considering making it a thing in our circle.
