  • I'm driving myself to our venue (well I suppose my mom will be driving). We will then take FI's car home.

I just got an email from Uber about using it for weddings. We are actually thinking of it, just for us though. Not sure if they offer it in your city, but it's worth looking into. GL!

    It includes:
The Uber Dallas Wedding package includes
    1. Unique New User Promo Code, for $20 off guests first ride
    2. 20% off 1 ride for the wedding party (up to 10 people)
    3. (1) Complimentary ride, up to $50, off for the lucky couple
  • Ideally, I would love for my uncle to transport us in his 1920's Rolls, but he would have to trailer it up from GA and it would be a huge pain in the ass.

We did a shuttle bus.  I got ready at home, the BMs met me there.  DH got ready at a hotel, GM met him there.
Shuttle picked up DH and GM and dropped them off at church.  Then shuttle came to my house and picked up all the girls, dropping us at church.  After ceremony, shuttle took us to picture location and then reception.
School bus was rented for the guests to and from the reception/hotel.  We also took the school bus to the hotel after the reception.

Our ceremony and reception are at a hotel, so we're staying there the night before (separate rooms). That way we can have a few drinks at the rehearsal dinner and we're right there to do all of the stuff that needs to get done the morning of our wedding. We'll load the kids up in the car after brunch the morning after and head back home.

We're all going to get ready at the hotel where we have a block because the guys will mostly be staying there anyway and the church's bridal suite is pretty much a closet.  I'm staying there the night before and the girls will meet me at my room to get ready.  The guys are getting ready in whatever room FI stays in, and leaving before us using whatever vehicles they drove there in.  The girls and I will be using a limo to go from the hotel to the ceremony.

Since it seats 8 and we have 12 bridal party members, plus the two of us, we decided that the ride from the ceremony to the reception will be FI and I and both of our parents so we aren't playing favorites with the BP.  Also, my mom gifted the limo to us and we'd like to show our appreciation by having her ride with us.

  • don't over think it.  We car-pooled to the venue.  Their girls husbands dropped them off at the hotel in the morning for hair, makeup and then after lunch we carpooled over to the venue with my mom and MIL.  I asked the girls what they preferred and this was the easiest.  I was originally planning the limo but the more I thought about it we would have been paying a lot of money to drive less than a mile down the street and we were not in our dresses since we got dressed at the venue.  This way their husbands drove to the venue for the wedding and they had one car at the end of the night.  The groomsman carpooled as well.  H and I got a ride with his cousin back to the hotel after the reception.  We did not want/need a fancy send off and again pointless to rent a ride to go 1 mile!  If we had the ceremony at a different venue or were planning pictures somewhere else in between we would have done a limo, but it was not needed for our situation.

  • We're walking out the back door and down a big ass lawn to the lakeside ceremony site. The reception restaurant is directly across the lake and we originally thought it would be fun to boat over, but seeing that the restaurant doesn't have a dock it was a pipe dream. Instead, we'll be car pooling.

  • The plan as of now...

DF is riding with his BM to the hotel.

I'm driving our SUV there with MOH. Mostly as I'll have more errands probably.

The four of us are going to sign paperwork that afternoon as we need to get it before and no other time that week is fitting in.

Back to hotel. Change. First look pictures using truck.

DH, his parents, MOH are riding together to church.

    BM is driving their car.

My dad is driving me in his restored car of some sort.

From church we have a shuttle bus. Church has free parking, restaurant doesn't have free parking.

    Then shuttle back to church.

Yes, we use Uber all the time!  They are indeed available in the city where our wedding will be.  Maybe that's the best option-- we can just get a couple SUVs for the BP and a black car for us.  I'll talk to Fi about this, I bet it would be much cheaper than a limo because the ride is so short!

Thanks, everyone, for confirmation that I don't need to worry about this!!!!
