It's Friday! Woot Woot!

This week just flew by for me! I am so ready for the weekend. Date night tonight with FI, tomorrow we are looking at tuxes, and then Sunday is my MOH's graduation party. Looking forward to copious amounts of booze and fun this weekend. What are you all doing?

  • A weekend with copious amounts of booze and fun is bound to be fantastic!!

Tomorrow is our date night - dinner at our fave restaurant, and I really want to check out a new(to us) bar that my sister was raving about so may squeeze a happy hour in there, too. Sunday I'm going to brunch with my sis and a couple girlfriends and then we are going to see Once the Musical. I'm ridiculously excited to see it again and hope to not be hung over like I was when I saw it in NYC a few years ago. I was shamefully miserable then so this is my "do over" opportunity & don't want to blow it.

  • @SmileDamnit-I want to see that so bad! Are you by chance in CO (you don't have to say if it is too personal)? I know it is playing here and I was wondering if they were sold out or not.

  • Yay weekend!

FI and I are looking at houses tomorrow. I kind of wish my agent hadn't put the first one first, because it's my favorite of all the ones on the list.

  • So happy it's Friday! My friend is moving to Chicago, and a mutual friend planned a last minute outing for tonight. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go or not, because I'm already going to her official going away party in a couple of weeks, and the weather is supposed to be really nasty tonight. I guess I'll wait it out.

Tomorrow is FI's cousins gender reveal party, which I posted about a couple of weeks ago. On Sunday I'm participating in the AIDS walk, and after we are taking FMIL to watch Godzilla and then to a Brazilian steakhouse. I will make an exception to my month of Veganism for this steakhouse, because it is AMAZING!

  • This has been a crazy long week. I will be drinking a giant glass of wine when I get home.

No plans tonight. Tomorrow, we're going hiking. Then I'll do some work around the house. Sunday is our tasting. We might to rock climbing after that.
  • Yay weekend.  We are going to a wedding Saturday night in the city, I'm looking forward to copious amounts of booze there, and fun with FI's family

  • SaraBrideSoon - yep, I'm in Denver. Sunday is the last show so definitely try to go if you can squeeze it in this weekend. It's wonderful...you'll absolutely LOVE it!

Well, it'll give you an excuse to take a weekend trip to NYC then & see it on Broadway ;)

  • We don't have anything in particular planned yet except attending a birthday party for DH's friend tonight. Lots of naps, I hope. :) And maybe a good date night tomorrow.

  • Happy Friday!

@SaraBrideSoon have fun this weekend! Sounds like it'll be a blast!

FI and I have a pretty nice weekend coming up. Tonight we'll probably just hang out at home and drink wine. Tomorrow he has to work in the morning and then we have an appointment with our florist right after. The best part about tomorrow though is the celebration we're going to. Our local liquor store (a very nice liquor store) is having their 50th anniversary party tomorrow so they are throwing a big (free!) party instore. There will be a ton of wineries and distilleries in the area doing tastings in the store, along with all kinds of food pairings and music. There's also a champagne toast at 3 pm. FI and I know the owner really well and we were actually in a commercial for their store about a year ago so we're excited for the party tomorrow. Free booze is the best.

Sunday FI works again and I'll just putter around the house and maybe we'll go to his parents house for dinner.

  • We've got tickets to "Motown" tonight which I'm looking forward to. Tomorrow is housework, errands, and FI fixing various cars for various people, then a a PhD graduation party for a friend of FI's. I barely know the graduate and suspect that I won't know anyone beyond FI.

Sunday is taking care of my gramma while my parents travel. She has a daytime helper but FI and I will be doing what my parents normally do- laundry, groceries, straightening up, (FI distracting her while I throw out expired food from her fridge), and taking her out for lunch. We'll spend the majority of the day doing that but will hopefully have time to finish all of the work that we inevitably won't finish tomorrow.

We've clearly got far too much on our to-do lists!

  • Weekends now until mid-sept will look like this.

    Work, work, work.

Club just re-opened so DH is working 10-12 hours shifts 7 days a week.   This weekend I have off tomorrow, CPR class on Sunday.  Then starting next week working a beverage cart on a golf course every Sat and Sunday until Mid-Sept (with the exception of my dad's party weekend).

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Birthday party for my brother tonight.  I love him but none of his new friends are our cup of tea, so we'll see how it goes.

Saturday we will be puttering around in the house.  I really need to get unpacked.  All of you people who move in and are unpacked in a week or two (or in my SIL's case, 4 days) can suck it.  We're 4 months in and we've unpacked the kitchen and dining room.  Everything else is still essentials only.

Sunday will be early mass (still first communion weekend) and then more of the puttering around in the house.

Have to run around cleaning tonight because FI's friend is coming over to address the mystery electrical issue with our bathroom lights and washing machine in the bathroom downstairs. Shit is weird as hell.

Then we get to go grocery shopping. Tomorrow we are going to a birthday dinner/movie at the IMAX (Godzilla for us as well).

Sunday I should probably start early by pounding some redbull and continuing the deep-cleaning brigade. FI told his parents that we are doing spring cleaning, and they want to come see the house when we're done. We are not hoarders, and we clean pretty often. We're basically just going to detail the house. We got the same AC unit they did, and they want to come see it.

FI's parents are weird and like to COME OVER AND SEE everything. FI got a used wood stove from his brother, it had been in his brother's house for 2 years. FILs had already seen it, MANY TIMES. We brought it over. FILs had to come over and see it. Had to get a chimney liner put in, and got the wood stove hooked up. FILs had to come over and see it.

WINTER COMES ALONG. We lit a fire in the wood stove, FILs had to come over and fucking see it.

I don't understand this logic at all, but... whatever. This is going to be the deal for the rest of my life, they're the FILs, and I have to get used to it. I could tell my parents that we decided to burn down the house and live in the septic tank and AT MOST, they'd want a picture. Then again, if someone told me they were going to do that, I'd want a picture and I'd also make a note to stay away from them bc they are going to staaaank.

For the first time in a long time, I am a free bird almost all weekend. I have zero commitments or obligations until Sunday evening. So, I will do whatever I want to.

  • It's a long weekend here and my birthday so fun times for me! Except for the traffic on the drive home tonight. The highway I take home connects to the ferry terminal and the border crossing so it will be a nightmare if I can't leave work early.

Tomorrow DH and I are going to the travel agent to get our honeymoon figured out, then I'm going to bake a funfetti birthday cake. We are having a birthday dinner either Saturday or Sunday night. I have to come into the lab on Monday to set up some stuff for experiments. All of my experiments take 5 days so if I don't come in Monday then I have to go in next Saturday.

  • My replacement seed paper came last night so I'm going to make the rest of my invites this weekend. FI is going to put a ceiling fan in our office. I'm hoping to get done with the invites with enough time for me to work in the yard.

Just hanging out at home tonight, likely with wine in hand. Tomorrow I have a hair trial and boudoir shoot. Sunday we have no plans - just hanging out with the kids. I'm looking forward to having a relatively low key weekend given that we won't have another until the second week of July!

  • It's a long weekend here for me as well so I will be driving 5 hours tonight to see my parents and tomorrow I go for my second dress fitting. FI was all sad that I won't get to see him this weekend (we live 2 hours apart) because it's his dad's birthday this weekend and can't come with me. Oh well, I get to see my bestie/MoH who I haven't seen in a month! Lol

  • This is the day that never ends. We are on a bizarre testing schedule, so I had to spend 3 hours with one of my classes and now 2 hours with this class, which has only 4 kids in it since the rest of them skipped. It's very awkward sitting in near silence with 4 kids like this, and I am bored out of my mind.

Happy Friday! I'm not going in to work today because of commencement weekend (this is Boston, so that means part of the city is pretty much at a standstill from all the traffic and pedestrians--more than usual, I mean).

  • BF & I are babysitting for SIL tonight while she's at work. Tomorrow is an "all-about-me" day - basically I get to pick any/everything BF and I do for the day :-) He's been super stressed at work lately and took it out on me, which is never acceptable, so this is the 2nd half of his apology. And then Sunday we're going to my girlfriend's wedding!

That explains why it was taking so long for everyone to get from A to B down there today. We've got some MA employees who were griping about traffic and parking logistics... now I know why!

It's really, really bad. I used to have orchestra rehearsals in Boston when I was in high school, and they still held rehearsal on commencement weekend. They were surprised when the majority of students were 1-2 hours late. Like ... were we supposed to teleport in or something?

    Shit, really?

I just want to stay home all weekend so I don't have to deal with people.
