Re: It's Friday! Woot Woot!

  • Fi's whole family is coming over tonight for his birthday dinner.  I decluttered and organized the whole apartment and we had a cleaning service come to do the deep-cleaning stuff, so I'm pretty stoked right now about our clean house.

Cake is baked, just needs decorating.  Food for tonight is mostly ready to go.

Today starts a pretty insane week.  Saturday: work, my grad party.  Sunday: my sister's graduation and lunch.  Monday: graduation ball, getting all gussied up.  Tuesday: Aladdin on Broadway.  Wednesday: my mom arrives from MA, and maybe dress shopping.  Thursday: GRADUATION y'all.  Friday: more dress shopping, Of Mice and Men on Broadway.  Then Fi is away that whole weekend for FBIL's bach party.  I think I might sleep for 48 hours.

  • Planning on drinking some wine when I get home tonight after working late tonight. Gym and then a trip to our venue site to talk with the coordinator about the reception details on Saturday. Its our first visit and I am not sure what to ask her besides reception timeline, select our food choices and pick our linen color. Oh, and I am pretty sure there will be a fight with FI over this visit. Most likely over the open bar (I want to serve hard liquor options and he doesn't want to spend any more money) but if not that something else. Other than that no plans.

Happy Friday! I'm not going in to work today because of commencement weekend (this is Boston, so that means part of the city is pretty much at a standstill from all the traffic and pedestrians--more than usual, I mean).

6 months until I'm married what is this

    Shit, really?

I just want to stay home all weekend so I don't have to deal with people.

It's worse in some parts of the city than in other parts. I went to college a bit farther north in a more residential area, and at a smaller school, so traffic wasn't as bad for our commencement. But the university I'm at now (and my partner works at) has thousands and thousands of students (grad and undergrad), commencement lasts almost all weekend, and the campus is spread out all over a huge portion of the city, along a main thoroughfare. So traffic gets bad, parking becomes impossible to find (and looking for parking makes traffic worse), and the public transit line gets clogged. Two years ago, I walked from my apartment to commencement (my sister was graduating) and even walking took longer than normal!

  • Pathetic confession - I'm more excited for the Jeopardy "Battle of the Decades" final tonight than any reasonably sane 30-year old woman should openly admit. Brad Rutter versus Ken Jennings?! This is my super bowl. FI and I wagered future child naming rights on it.

When Roger lost it all on the Double Jeopardy for "edema" last night I lost my shit laughing. Even I knew that, foo'.

I made FI promise me that we would watch it tonight. I hate Brad. And I laughed when Roger lost all his money on edema.

I want a full report on this, including a list of songs they sing. I hope it ends up on Broadway Across America, otherwise a trip to NYC is happening.
