Home alone!

FI is at work for the day, I have little to no wedding stuff to do today, and I'm parked on the couch with my coffee and watching Chopped. Its okay that this is the highlight of weekend?! (Don't expect you guys to validate my bad ideas ;-) )

Later today, we are going shopping to get some new clothes for our honeymoon. Can't wait! What is everyone up to today?

  • Chopped is awesome!  And I'm sure, with two weeks to go, you deserve some down time!

  • I have one last round of projects to grade, but I am putting them off until tomorrow. I have been swamped with work stuff and grading papers and running errands for weeks, so today I am just going to play WoW or watch TV all day.

  • I'm home alone today too, but FFIL is coming for dinner tonight, so I don't really get to enjoy it since I'm cleaning like a madwoman (because FI has done fuckall around the house), still have to do food shopping, and cook dinner.

Tomorrow, though, is farmer's market day! FI will be gone all day again, so I'm going to go and buy all the fresh produce/fresh bread/fresh cheese then lay on the couch and eat as much of it as I can.

  • I'm doing laundry until it's time to head down to MA. We're going to a big birthday dinner at Macaroni Grill and then seeing Godzilla at the IMAX. Then I'm probably going to come home and clean some more.

@Cookie Pusher- farmers market sounds amazing! I dropped FI off at work this morning and passed the green city market. I was really tempted to buy all the beautful, yummy things, but my couch was calling me. Next weekend, maybe :-)

I love, love, love going to the farmer's market. The one I go to has caved aged cheeses, pickles, a Polish food guy with cherrywood smoked kielbasa/pierogis/stuffed cabbage, a company that has fresh baked breads and hand-pulled mozzarella, a woman with homemade jams/jellies, a seafood vendor, tons of organic farms, several bakeries, an organic pasta vendor, organic meat vendors, small catering companies, live music, an animal shelter that brings puppies, a pizza truck, a taco truck, a local honey vendor, and so much more. It's a dog-friendly market, so there's always tons of cute pups to pet and play with. I end up spending so much money every week because I buy all the things! lol They even have a crepe guy every other week!!

  • Oh man, I wish I was going to a farmers market!! Ours doesn't start for a few more weeks.

I think I'm going to go with FI to swap his car out for the month. He's been getting Tahoe's, but I really want him to get a Buick Enclave this time so I can see if that's what I want when Large Marge (the minivan) finally kicks the bucket. I'm afraid if I don't go with him, he'll come home with a big ass truck and me no want a truck.

I need to go shopping for some Spanx or other cover wear at some point, too. I've been going back and forth as to if I should wear anything with my dress, and I'm leaning toward affirmative. First fitting is Wednesday, so figured I should get something to try then. Any suggestions for brands, ladies?

And then tonight, we are going to dinner at our fave restaurant (…see, gluttonous meal = need for spanx!). The chef changes the menu every twelve months and May has both lamb & pheasant so FI will be in heaven. I'm just excited for the desserts!

About a month out from my first fitting I went to a department store with my mom to try on shape wear for the wedding. I thought I wanted a long line bra and panty, but I ended up getting a strapless bra and high waisted spanx with a little closure to make going to the bathroom easier. I've worn the undergarments to all 3 of my fittings and I think they're gonna be great and decently comfortable for the wedding. ETA: I bought name brand spanx. Way more expensive than I was planning, but they are great quality
