Re: Wine...

  • Pinto Noir girl here.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Cab, a big & bold one.

Turning Leaf white zinfandel, sometimes a light pinot grigio, some chardonnays.  Mostly I just slip rum into my soda because I'm awesome like that.
  • Mead for white, pinot noir for red.

  • Love a good merlot or cab sauv if I'm going red. Oakey Chardonnay or a dry Riesling for white.

Merlot, Malbec, any red blends really. The only white I like is the Sauvignon Blanc, chilled in the summer. I love the wines I get from Trader Joe's.
  • I'm a Chardonnay girl in general but my most favorite wine of all time is brancott Sauvignon Blanc. Super fruity and delish

  • Give me a bottle of Barolo and you're my friend. Forever.
  • Rosé and Peachcello.

  • Moscato, Riesling, and some Chardonnays for whites. I like Rosso/Rossa, Lambrusco, NYS Concord Red wines, and some Cabernets for red wines.

  • Pino Grigo or Shiraz - sometimes a Merlot

A bubbly white one that is sweet and isn't dry.  I'm not a wine girl, though.

  • I'm either a Moscato or Sangiovese kind of gal.
Who am I kidding. I love ALL wine :)

@CamiSelene My parents bought it for Thanksgiving a few years ago and I got a *little* tipsy.  I might've tripped going up the stairs.  That's when I knew it was good stuff.
  • My all-time fav is Pacific Rim riesling, but I can rarely get it. My friend turned me on to Cupcake Moscato. Other than that.... bubbly is nice <3

  • Syrah. I like them with a bit of spice and blackberry flavor. Preferably from Washington State.
  • I had Leibfraumilch tonight. I mostly prefer sweet to slightly dry whites. Reisling, Gewurtztraminer (anything German, apparently), Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Scuppernong. Or the few sweet reds around like Muscadine.

  • I don't like super spicy wines (no Shiraz) and really sweet wines (so no Moscato)... but anything else in between = yum!

  • Sauv Blanc or Chenin for me. I like most white wines though, except Chardonnay (too wooded for my tastes). I'm not much of a red drinker, but I like a good Bordeaux every now and then. Also Merlot.

FI is hooked on a Malbec from Casillero del Diablo that we battle to get. In SA, Malbec is primarily used as a blending grape, so we don't get many single varietal Malbecs, which makes FI very sad.

  • I love me some Cab Franc, and Riesling. I'm lucky enough to live 20min from one wine country, and my parents live an hour from the Niagara valley. They've got some solid, solid whites.

Also, I really like wine that's free.

  • Unoaked chardonnay.
  • Ok you guys will probably know this. I generally don't like chardonnay, because it tastes horribly bitter to me. Like, bitter like poison. So is that the dryness or the oak in it? Usually when I don't like a wine, cuts because it's just so bitter I can't stand to even smell it, let alone taste it. Pinot grigio is usually safe, but what else could I try? White zin just gives away how unsophisticated my palate is.
