Valentine's Day

I found a venue. Im trying to decide between the 14th and the 21st. I'm a teacher and I'm trying to work around my vacation. I would prefer having it during the beginning of my vacation but I really don't want to have a Valentine's day theme wedding. What do you all think? Is it a bad idea to hold it on Valentine's day?

I'm having mine on Valentine's Day. So obviously, I think it's a good idea. :-) I'm calling it a celebration of love so that people who wanted to celebrate vday can - and hey, free romantic dinner! Plus I like the sound of 2-14-15. In the end, it really is what matters to you. At least it's an easy day to remember for your FI and guests too.
  • I am wondering if the other vendors are going to be more expensive such as photographer, band/dj, or flowers. Are you finding that?
  • I am just starting to plan my Valentine's Day wedding and I am finding that it is pretty cheap because most vendors are in the really slow months, also my fiance is a professional videographer and his November-March is always slow, so you have room to negotiate with them!
    Good luck!

  • I live in AZ and have reserved my wedding venue for 2/14/15. I was concerned about it being to cliche to hold my wedding that day but like emerald2013 I liked the sound of 2/14/15. My guests will be traveling in from out of town so I figured that it may as well be a weekend that people are going out anyway.

I did find my venue was priced at the "peak season" price for that day due to it being a holiday and a Saturday. Other than that figure flower prices are going to be higher due to normal Valentines Day pricing.

  • We were originally thinking 2/14/15, but that's my fiance's parents anniversary so we're doing it on the 15th. We're from Arizona, but having it in Vegas :)

  • I live in AZ too. Was going to have it here - but decided to have it closer to family in Hawaii. I wish I would have just had it here. Planning long distance is HARD. Either of you AZ brides from Tucson area? I originally reserved a venue for 2-14-15 here but canceled, I wonder if they rebooked it for another wedding.
  • We despised on 2/13. It's Friday the 13 and then we have valentines day the day after. We are almost done with our planning. Yay!
  • We are getting ,arrived on Valentines day as well. We are planning am intimate backyard wedding. I am almost done with the planning. Now just working on details like wedding vows and seating charts. Best of luck to all of you with your wedding plans.
