Had our tasting yesterday. Amazing!

Holy crap, guys. All of the food we chose was so good! I was blown away. We're putting everything we tried on our menu. 

We also decided to do a consumption based bar, which I didn't know was an option. It will be a great choice for us. We have quite a few guests that don't drink and it's an afternoon wedding. They're also letting us mix call brand and top shelf liquors. 

They were also willing to work with us on a lot of things. I work for a pastry manufacturer. They're letting me bring in all of my own desserts and are setting up a dessert buffet (which is exactly what I wanted). They're only charging us $1 per person to do it. 

Honestly, knowing how "uppity" this place can be, I was really worried they were going to be rigid. I'm relived. And so freaking excited! Now I only have to wait 4 months :-P 

But now I have to figure out things like the guest book and seating charts and place cards and that is already stressing me out.

    Our dang venue charges a $2/slice cake cutting fee AND a $2/guaranteed headcount plating fee for outside desserts. :( That's great they're doing it for a buck. .

  • These are the passed hors d'oevres 
    Smoked salmon w/ fresh horseradish on rye 
    Apple w/ brie on toasted raisin bread 
    Ahi tuna poke with ginger and soy on crispy wonton 
    Parmesan artichoke heart in phyllo triangle  
    Maryland crab cake with lime creme fraiche 
    Beef empanada with olive and chipotle aioli 

    We'll also have stations of cheeses, fruits, hummus and pita bread. 

    First course
    Vietnamese vegetable summer roll with nappa cabbage slaw and sweet soy 

    Romaine hearts with blue cheese, grape tomatoes and roasted garlic vinaigrette 

    Entrees
    Filet Mignon with tri-color dauphinoise potatoes and bordelaise sauce 
    Grilled lemon and sage chicken with creamy saffron orzo pasta 
    Seared Tasmanian salmon with fennel confit and lyonnaise potatoes 
  • Sounds amazing, and now I'm hungry. I adore crab cakes, I love going to events finding out they have crab cake. I'm a tad obsessed with them lol.
