What do they care about crazy? They get mad page views from crazy. Sure, they have to ban people and step in when shit hits the fan, but in the meantime, think of all those ads being clicked!

But guys, gaps are totes cool. Like I'm having a four hour one. We're gonna go see a movie. Don't know/don't care what my guests are gonna do. It's like, my special day, no theirs. I'm sure they'll appreciate it becasue they can like nap or freshen up from having the hard work of sitting and watching me get married.

I'm having an 8 hour gap. Our WP is going to set us on fire and then take us to the emergency room. We should be all wrapped up and ready to rock by the time the reception starts. No one is allowed to party without us!

@PrettyGirlLost - you should come on over to that thread especially if you are in the mood to play BINGO. Not only have we been told multiple times that they feel sorry for our husbands/FI, we have also had a GBCK post as well as someone telling me that my marriage will add to the 50% divorce rate. It is highly entertaining!

no, guys, you don't get MY situation. See because of, um, Catholicism and because I'm from the Midwest I am forced to have a ceremony at 5 am on Saturday and then a reception two days later, at 1 pm on Monday. All my friends and family and OOT guests all told me it was totally cool so you guys are just mean for complaining

I just caught up in that thread and blech.

I wonder what would happen if the next time we have a newsletter thread we just let them be. A part of me would love to see what would happen if the snowflakes were left to interact just among themselves.

This doesn't even make sense. You can tell there's a gap as soon as you get the invitation.

I think some of them want to publicly be able to "stick it" to us old fuddy duddies who still believe in proper etiquette and hosting. Others, however, might stick around and start spouting their awful ideas in other threads!

To cheer you all up from this crap - I joined the knot after I got engaged and have lurked A LOT. You ladies are all amazing. I haven't been to many weddings and the ones I have been to were poorly hosted. I always thought things seemed a little off, but didn't say anything because it was the "norm" and nobody else said anything.

You ladies have validated every snarky thought I have had about weddings/girlfriends planning their weddings. My wedding will be properly hosted, and that is largly in part to the advice given here. Family members and vendors have made horrible suggestions to me, and if it wasn't for you ladies I may have developed a snowflake mentality.

So there is hope for some of us. You people do important work.

I was thinking the same thing! Just let them all tell each other how wonderful they are and how it's THEIR DAY and save ourselves some sanity.
