Wedding Woes

Things

1. We had a great visit with my mom yesterday.  She loved the little crafts I made with the kids.

2. My garage sale got hailed out Saturday.  I purged some stuff straight to good will and started selling lots of clothes on a local facebook selling page.  I've made more than I would have at the garage sale and still have a ton to go.

3. It's scan day.  I'm sucking down the coffee now because I'm cut off at 7:30.  I can tell DH is worried.

Re: Things

  • 1. Yay
    2. Boo to hail, but yay to FB hookup.
    3. Ugh.  T+P's.

    My things:

    1. I did something to the muscle behind my shoulder blade and it's killing me.  It's all knotted up and when DH tried to rub it out last night, it was taking my breath away.  I need a real massage.

    2. DH is getting calls from all the jobs he applied for a month+ ago for interviews.  I knew this was going to happen.  It puts us in a pickle in regard to where around town to move.  ::le sigh::

    3. I am having the worst insomnia.  I'm up between 2a and 4a for at least an hour every night worrying about dumb shit or stuff I cannot control.

    4. The coffee from Trader Joe's we bought is under roasted.  It's weak sauce.  :(

    5. We thought we had more boxes than we actually do have.  I'm hoping my sister has some from when she moved.  Otherwise, we're going to have to get creative.
  • Good luck on your scan, 6.

Sorry about your non-sleep, conn.  That sucks.

    My things:

    1.  The weather is supposed to be nice for at least 10 days.  By "nice", I mean it's supposed to hit 70 every day.

    2.  I am in complete disbelief that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend.  Really?

    3.  At the same time, I'm so ready for these kids to be done with school.  I'm tired of leaving the house every two hours to do a drop off or pick up.  :)  DD1 has 6 days left and Son has 7 days.
  • 6, you'll do great.  They'll find what's wrong and get you fixed up right.  I hope it's something simple.

MsC, when I would wake up like that I found the best thing to do is just get up and do something small (like pick up clothes, read a book, start watching old handy movie) until I was tired again and then drift off.  I also have a piece of music that I still love from choir that I would run through each individual part in my head to make my brain stop whirling.  It's about getting your mind off of whatever the thing is and slowing back down.

    Mine:

I would like a voluntary hysterectomy  I'm sure getting used to life w/out hormones would be difficult, but this one day of cramps I'm down to is nothing to sneeze at.  I live on prescription strength Advil and wine and I just hurt.

I'm so glad there's a 3 day weekend coming up.  I got rather screwed w/my vacation at work (my own fault) which makes me short on time and I hoard vacation time.  I'm thinking about taking Friday off too.

I love DH and I'm glad to have a partner in life, but sometimes I still wish I was single so I could keep everything just so and exactly for me, rather than for the two of us.  This is also hormones talking b/c I just want to be alone with the dogs and a book. And wine.  Outside.  With a pool.  Yeah, I need a vacation.

I totally get the notion of loving the people in my life, but I want things my way.

I'm totally digging this facebook sale thing.  I leave stuff on the porch, people take it and leave money.  I've made $23 sitting on my ass this morning.

  • 6, I'm be thinking of you and I just said a prayer that everything is clear on the scan and all is A-OK.

  • So DH had an interview this morning.  The guy got right down to $$ after about 20 min and they simply weren't going to offer enough.  BUT the guy told DH to contact him if he is ever in need of a job and he would keep DH in mind if the next level up had an opening because he was so impressed with him.

He has an interview tomorrow for a major health/wellness brand that is opening a warehouse here.  He applied for two positions with them.  He'shoping they're considering him for the higher level position.  And we're really hoping the pay is competitive to what he makes now.

So we'll see.  I knew he'd be getting calls sooner than later.  He was just impatient about the process.

This all is making turning down the relocation a better and better decision.

6-T&P all around.  White light and all that jazz.

Conn--I can't imagine what sorts of circles my mind would be traveling in if I were in your position.  I'd say you're doing really well.  But that's just the interwebz frienzzz talking.

Taw---I know!  Memorial Day!?!?  Pshh...no way.

Varuna---Memorial Day reminds me that you invited H and I to your bike ride, and of course we couldn't make any promises.  Which is good, because H is working Memorial Day-Saturday.

    My things:

    1.  Trying to get applications together for health care sucks.  And we're doing it for YOU people, and you don't give us information.  I have about 2 days to get this shit together, and people are dragging their feet.  DO IT!

    2.  I bought new running shoes yesterday and this made me extraordinarily happy, which means I'ma  dork.  I'm sure you're all surprised.

    3.  With H's gma not doing well, he's ready to slap his family.  I knew family fvckery would be rampant but this early?!?!  *sigh*
  • @6fsn - hope the scan went well and you get answers and easy solutions.

@VarunaTT - I'm with you on the hysterecomy. I'm tired of getting ovarian cysts and all of the side effects and pain. The only reason that I haven't gotten one is because DK is still talking about another kid - and until we're on the same page about that, I'm holding off on anything permanent.

    My things:

    1) My parents will be visiting Wed-Sun. Should be a nice time. We haven't seen them since November, so I know they're excited to spend time with Wolverine. Since they're getting here on Wednesday, they'll get to go to gymnastics, which should be a lot of fun. I'm taking Friday off so I can take them out for a joint Mothers/Fathers Day gift.

    2) I've been doing a 6 month DietBet since mid-April. My starting weigh-in was Easter, and my first official weigh-in (for round 1) will be Thursday/Friday. I've surpassed my 3% monthly goal, and as of today, am 10lbs down from Easter. I have a long way to go, but am proud of my progress.

    3) Since I was sick a couple of weeks ago, we went out on Sunday for my Mothers' Day outing - I got a lot of great shots of the butterflies and tropical foliage at the museum, and we had an awesome wild game dinner. (Ostrich, elk, buffalo, python)
  • @ftrmrs0 that's okay, we ended up not being able to go either.  But seeing all of the pics of people getting and the band lists is making me trey sad, so we've promised ourselves (and our group) that we're definitely going next year.
