Story time! (now that work has kindly calmed down)

My FI (!) goes to a huge church, and they record their church news/announcements and show the video on huge screens on Sunday mornings. FI is one of the people who does this, so he's on the screen every 4 or 6 weeks.

Late Saturday afternoon we were at my place, and he says he has something to show me. So we sit down, and he starts a video on his computer which looks like the church news. I'm thinking "Why are you showing me tomorrow's news? And when did you go in to record this anyways?" About 7 seconds into the video he turned to the girl that he records with and kicked her out...and said that this had nothing to do with the news and everything to do with me. The rest of the video was everything he wanted to say in his proposal, until he turned it back over to himself for the actual question. It was the sweetest thing and I love how much effort he put into the whole thing, and now I'm sitting at work grinning like a crazy person!

It was perfect and private AND I never have to worry about forgetting what he said!

ETA: My first question after we calmed down was "Please don't tell me this is playing at church tomorrow? Because if it is I'm staying home!"

I keep forgetting that I'm engaged, and then I'll look at my ring & then I get butterflies. I can't believe it's really there, and it's mine, and I'm getting MARRIED!!

Engagement chicken is a thing that started in a magazine (Glamour, I think) YEARS ago - essentially, it said, if you make this recipe, your boyfriend will propose. It's a long-running joke.

I definitely did NOT make an engagement chicken for Valentine's Day, and did NOT go ring shopping like, the next week. It totally doesn't work.
