  • I also hate the "we had to" argument.  Were you kidnapped and forced at gunpoint to wed against your will? No? Then you didn't HAVE to. You CHOSE to.  You don't need benefits, you want benefits. Do they make life easier? Sure do! But they are not needed to survive.  Notice how they are called benefits and not rights?

Benefit: something that is advantageous or good; an advantage

    Rights:
that which is due to anyone by just claim, legal guarantees, moral principles, etc.: women's rights; Freedom of speech is a right of all Americans.
My reaction to most everything on the internet today:

LOL @ladyamanuet, no aneurisms here! I was actually laughing in my office at the guy's last reponses, and started trolling him in a thoughtful manner :). I'm done though now, since he backed himself into a corner getting more and more upset at my trolling and started to make zero sense.

He sent me a wall of text responding to my "I could ask you the same question (why drag on the conversation; this was his reponse to me linking the PPD FAQ thread)".  He wrote out a bunch of sentences about how he is just responding to my comments and how answering a question with another question is likely to go unanswered, and how I need the last word or must enjoy arguing with myself to keep dragging this out.

I just responded with "I said I could, but I didn't." His reponse was "Actually you didn't say anything." Yea okay, that's a thoughtful retort /sarcasm. I am not pulling him out of that corner, and will have an evil grin on my face for the rest of the day.

ETA: I was not laughing at you, but laughing because I agreed with you and liked the way that you put it :)

Why do people continue to insist that Kimye are good role models?  I think that's the crux of the issue.  She's arguing the Kimye situation is perfectly fine because she did the same thing.  That's like saying, "I know someone who ran over a pedestrian with his car.  It's completely fine though, because I've done that too."  Two hit and run accidents don't suddenly make hit and runs okay so why would two different couples having PPDs?
