Narrowing Down Chapels

So on Wednesday we cancelled our wedding in Phoenix (plannign a big wedding is too stressful!) and have decided to go to VEGAS!

We are looking at 4 chapels this week: Aria, Havana Room @ Tropicana, Silver Sky Chapel @ Quad, or Wedding Suite @ Cosmopolitan. I am also trying to decide on whether or not to do an in-suite reception or have cocktails/dinner at Sugar Factory in the Chocolate Lounge or one of the Aria restaurants.

Any feedback you can give on the list of options would be really appreciated!

I loved the decor at Havana Room but there is a 100 person requirement to book. Even though we have close to that number, Tropicana wouldn't consider letting us book the space. I'm not sure what your wedding number is but it's just an FYI!
  • I am biased towards Aria because I am getting married there. What I like most about it are the ready rooms which are very luxurious and the fact that you can change the up lighting to almost any color, really personalizing it.
The Trop girls have been super fabulous! I communicated with them about a month regarding having a reception there. Their banquet prices are very reasonable. They wouldn't budge on Havana f&b minimums for evening But they will for daytime/lunch/brunch. For as much as it costs you could always do ceremony and reception there if you're okay with that and depending on your group size. Such a gorgeous space!!!!
    Good luck!!!

  • Thanks for the update on Havana. We are only looking at 30-40 people.

PrincesMich I will let you know what I think of the Quad :) I don't normally like the hotel as a whole (we were robbed there once while we were sleeping!) but the chapel looks beautiful!

  • @hmgiffor when are you going? We'll be up there touring the 15th of June, so if I get there before you, I'll give an update as well :)

  • I don't have input on the other three but based on recent reviews, if you're considering an in-suite, it sounds like the wedding suite at Cosmo would not be that great of an investment. It's basically just a wraparound hotel room with some furniture swapped with additional chairs, and I think I remember reading that you can't stay in it, but double check that. You'd be better off renting a regular wraparound room and just having additional chairs brought in by a rental company like Current Events or RSVP (http://www.vegasgroom.com/35/) if you need them.

  • Let us know what you think of them. I will be touring the Quad, The Plaza and TI's chapel June 8!
  • Thanks for posting!  I'm in a similar boat and appreciate all of the feedback.

I absolutely LOVE Aria's chapels, but their packages were too expensive for us.

I liked the Tropicana, and they were really nice, but H didn't want a tropical feel to the wedding.

We both loved The Flamingo and The Quad. We liked the Silver Sky Chapel slightly better, and the packages were a bit cheaper, so we went with them.

That said, The Flamingo just re-did their Garden Chapel. Had it looked like that when we were planning, we probably would have gone with The Flamingo, even though it cost a little bit more.

The big selling points for The Flamingo and The Quad were the additional vendor fees. Very few chapels/hotels allow outside photographers, but we were able to pay a fee to use Todd for everything. We could have used our own florist too, but we ended up customizing the floral through The Quad for a very small upcharge, so we stuck with them (and our flowers were perfect).
  • @wrigleville Thanks so much for the feedback! I can't wait to go see it tomorrow :)

  • So we are back! We booked Aria for April 11, 2015 @6pm! We INSTANTLY fell in love with Aria. It is so classy and elegant.

The Silver Sky Chapel in Quad was ok. The carpets looked pretty dirty like they hadn't been cleaned in forever. It was also an awkward place in the hotel and you had to walk past some suspect stuff to finally reach the chapel. The bridal room left VERY LITTLE to be desired..it looked like an old closet that was converted into a room.
