OK, I think this is officially the worst burlap thing I've seen so far.

    Dear lord in heaven. NO.

  • I just asked my MOH straight up.

We did a tacky sign at e pics. I have a white board "I hold his heart", DF has a white board "So I will hold her name", with the dogs each holding a sign "Yes" "They're" "Serious" I despise the stealing crap signs. Clearly I've worked retail too long, I don't find stealing funny or cute at all.
  • Found this at Marshall's today.  How do you make mason jars even better?  Chalkboard paint, of course!

  • Burlap. Bouquet. *mic drop*

PS I had to make this monstrosity for a friend of my mom's. I did what I could. I'm actually proud of it. But burlap. Ew.

EW, because burlap. But it looks really nice, considering. You did a good job!
  • @NavyBlue143 god bless you for your strength of character.

    Burlap and Tiffany blue. Lovely.

  • I don't understand the burlap craze at all.  Burlap is used for potato sacks.  Burlap is itchy and pokey.  BURLAP ISN'T EVEN PRETTY *the crowd gasps and some ladies faint*

Oh my god.  Somebody wants their groom to wear DRAWSTRING PANTS?  White linen is a little goofy but I could see it (for a beach wedding or a hippie affair) but these are horrible.

THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN "I STOLE HER HEART / SO I'M STEALING HIS LAST NAME" OMG OMG

My coworker is wedding obsessed. She asked me about my sister's wedding plans.
Me: "Her centrepieces, decorations and invitations are burlap and lace. The theme is rustic-vintage"
    Her: "What's burlap"
Me: "Umm, it's a potato sack"
Her: "EWWWW. Why would anyone want potato sacks all over their wedding?"
Me: (straight face) "Because it's so original and unique. And lace makes it pretty"

Okay... other than the burlap... this is one "rustic" wedding that I don't find much fault with.  Everything (besides the DAMN BURLAP) is very put-together, clean, tidy...  Not bad, Colorado couple, not bad.

ETA:  and I don't see ONE MASON JAR, PRAISE THE GOOD LORD

  • The signs that tell you to sit anywhere sort of confuse me.  I would assume that the default would be to sit wherever, unless your wedding has ushers escorting you to certain sides.  At my wedding we didn't have ushers and didn't have a sign telling people to sit but they seemed to manage :P

My ushers will seat my guests in height order so the pictures are symmetrical. The pictures are all that matter. I'm gonna make that the next big thing. ;)
This is a great idea. Especially since sometimes there are couples in which one is clearly the more attractive partner... This way you can move them around so everyone "goes together." It's really no different than decorating a room in your house.

I agree with a lot of stuff on here. I never had my wedding board until after my FI asked me and then it still took me months to even think about anything wedding related. Our "theme" is things that we like to do together, or that we love. Yea that's it. I understand why some people don't agree with the superhero themed stuff - I'm against the undergarments and the boutonniere, but me and FI have seen EVERY Marvel movie together that has come out in theatres in the last 7 years. So for us, some teeny tiny superhero stuff, like his socks, or cuff links might be present. FI did ask both my parents, but I was still living with them, and I'm super close to my parents. However he asked me to marry him while we were watching Star Trek on the couch one night. Didn't even have the ring in his hands yet, it was ordered though. I hate the burlap, icky color Barely anyone can afford a rock the size of an almond. I have tiny fingers, I like my simple delicate ring, mostly because FI designed it himself. And that is waaaaay more important than how big it is. The tacky pictures and the tacky cake toppers.... just don't. Overall Pinterest is good for brainstorming but I have made it mandatory for me to go through my boards, my wedding one especially, and review it once a month. Unpin anything that you don't like anymore, or that you "accidentally" pinned, just because you liked it when you pinned it, doesn't mean you haven't changed your mind.

Several vendors asked me about our theme right off the bat. I was puzzled. Then I said, "I'm pretty sure our theme is 'getting married.'"
Any vendor who started asking about themes and vision ended up being a nope.  Not just for that reason, but because that generally indicated somebody who likes this Pinteresty kind of style.

A photographer actually showed us an album that included one of these:

I called her out on it, too.  "Um, why would you do a picture like that?"  She got flustered and said the B&G wanted it.  Well fine, but you don't have to choose to keep it in your portfolio.
I am sorry, maybe I am a prude. Or maybe I missed something- but WTH is up with these pictures of bridal parties showing their panties/boxers? I cannot fathom how that has a place in your wedding album.
Agreed. I don't need pictures of my closest friends' underwear.

  • Hopefully these trends will go away soon. We use burlap to protect fossils, not make things pretty!

  • I have a contribution to the completely unnecessary showing of your undergarments.

  • Holy shit.

Also is it bad that the only thing I can think is, "I would be absolutely covered in mosquito bites. Not gonna happen. Certainly not in front of a photographer."
