Hello Ladies
FI and I are going to a wedding in a couple of weeks. I have a few dresses that MIGHT work, but I'm not 100% feeling they are fancy enough. I've been to Dressbarn, David's Bridal, Dillards, and Macy's looking. I just feel that everything is either Too Formal or Not Formal Enough - where the heck is the 'in between' stuff?
About the wedding:
The Wedding Ceremony is at 2:00pm
The Reception/Cocktail hour starts at 6pm
-- I think the time is what is confusing me a bit too; if it was 2pm followed by like a 4 or 5pm cocktail hour/reception - the dresses I'm saying are 'Not formal enough' would work and if it was a 4pm wedding with a 6pm cocktail hour/reception the 'Too Formal' probably would work.
--The other thing throwing me off is that I would probably take one of the 'not formal enough' dresses and add a couple pieces of jewelry and a pair of pretty heels to it and 'there ya go' - I'm not allowed to wear heels at the moment (and I'm not a huge fan of flats).
Re: Where to shop? (Wedding Guest/Special Occassion)
I'm just looking for a dress because the times and venues have me all confused.

I was trying to stick to $100 or less. I do love this dress:

This is the dress that I'm thinking about wearing. Thankfully the model is super tall and I'm super not-tall so it comes down closer to my knee.

@Queerfemme - I love the lace dress - yay lace sleeves to cover my arms!!
@debmonn - I also love the 1st dress you posted from Macy's!
Thanks ladies - I think I was just a little depressed from actually shopping in the department stores so find other dresses.
I do most of my shopping online at Macys. Their online selection is so much better than what they have in the stores, and it's easy to return if it doesn't fit. Buy a few things and return what you don't like.
Good luck!
