Favorite flip flops? completely NWR!

I live in flip flops during the summer. I'll wear my "lady shoes" at work but still wear flip flops in transit, on weekends, etc. I bought a cute pair of Nike flip flops at Kohls 2 weeks ago and have since developed a horrible rash all over my feet. I stopped wearing them once I figured out the connection but am still without flip flops. I've been wearing a worn out pair of foam Tevas for the time being but need an upgrade.

I'm not a fan of the cheap Old Navy variety (ouch) and prefer those with some degree of support (I love the idea of Keens but they never fit quite right). I've got other sandals ranging from cute to sexy to walking but for everyday, I need a replacement.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • Reefs!

They have the best arch support.

  • Reefs are really great. I love ALL flip-flops though.

  • @jcbride2015 beat me to it! I LOOOOOOVE my reefs. I live in them.  And they LAST! I've had mine for years! They kind of mold to your feet a little, and are so comfy. And they have a lot of different styles

  • Rainbows. Reefs. Sanuks. Spearies. I like that Rainbows are leather. I have the same pair I had in middle school.

  • @ladymanuet Mine are 9 years old and still going strong!

  • Ditto @JCbride2015 with Reefs.  They are about $30 a pair depending on the style, but I still have my first pair that I bought in 2006 (give or take a year).

They mold to your feet so they give a little bit of support and they hold up way longer than the cheap kind.

  • Do you all buy the foam-like kind? Or other varieties?

  • I have random ones I bought from kohl's I think. I don't generally wear flip flops. It's nice to have shoes to slip on if I need to run out to my car, but other than that I wear sandals or loafers or something.

Mine are the foam ones with thin straps, like this:

  • I love my Rocket Dog flip flops.  They are super comfy (I have gone on over a 3 mile walk in them and my feet were not sore and no blisters).  I have had my current pair for 3 years at least and they are still in great shape.  I have either the Spotlight or the Sunset style.
  • @wandajune6 I will take a pic when I get home and post it =D

  • I just ordered 4 pairs from Amazon. I'll have to make some returns but this way I can see what I like best. Thank you all!

  • I am so glad this thread popped up! Does anyone know what 'Jacks' are? I was chatting with a gal from VA at Starbucks today and she said her shoes were 'Jacks'.

I've always bought shitty walmart flipflops. Which probably explains why I loath them. I didn't know they were a thing sold outside of cheap plastic ones. I am buying two pair off that website right now. My feet feel happier already.

    You are all saviors.

"Jacks" are Jack Rogers' I believe. They are known in my area as "sorority sandals". I wasn't a sorority girl but I like Jacks because you can dress them up or down.

  • I have some brown, leather Clark's that I live in. They are pricey, but I have had the same pair for 3 or 4 years and they are going strong.

I walk a ton - live in NYC -  and they never bother me.

Yeah, I have a pair of those from college (not a sorority girl, but the shoe I store I worked at sold them).  Honestly they are expensive and not that comfortable.  The heel is really hard.  I can't wear mine for anything that involves a lot of walking.  But on the bright side, they are easy to wear with a dress if you don't feel like doing heels.

Yes, definitely NOT the most comfortable sandals. I only wear them occasionally.

  • Reefs or Teva's. SUPER COMFYYYYYYYY

  • OluKia are my favorites.   They are more expensive, but last a while.  I had one pair in the islands that lasted a few years.  We are talking about 365 days a year of wearing them.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I LOVE Havaianas.

They're pricey, but I always get deals on them. I get them on like Gilt or Rue La La.

  • Was Yellow Box just a fad? I saw them everywhere years ago. A friend of mine wore heels to an all-day event with a lot of standing and walking and had an emergency need for different shoes. She bought some Yellow Box flip flops (insanely expensive for what they are, IMO) and she's been wearing them for 4 years now. So, they might have been worth it after all.

But, in spite of that... Why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me... It says, 'Search for Paradise.' " - Kiba, Wolf's Rain

  • Havaianas! Ridiculous that they go for like $60 here but I bought oodles of them when I was in Brazil where they were cheap. So squishy. :)

  • I have a pair of zebra stripe Hello Kitty flipflops that I love.

But then, I only wear flipflops to take out the trash or go to the beach.
