Pearls with dress?

I am in need of some good advice about my bridal jewelry. I always wanted to wear a white freshwater pearl necklace, earrings, and bracelet on my wedding day. I love the simple elegance of it. My dress that I already purchased is an Oleg Cassini fluffy organza ball gown with an elaborate crystal embellishment that goes around the waste. The consultant at DB stated that the crystals in the dress would not match the simplicity of a pearl necklace. He thought I would have to have crystals, or some sort of bling to match the dress? I am so confused. I have scoured the net looking for pearl necklaces with jewels in them, and I just don't think they look as classy. Should I just wear some dangled earrings that would match the style of the dress, or do simple pearls match no matter what??? Thanks ladies!!!

    I had the same problem....easily fixed by buying a comb for my hair that had bling AND pearls in it...now I have the bling on the dress counteracted by the perl jewelry all tied together with the comb.

    If you've always had your heart set on white pearls then go for it.

    I think the dress is gorgeous and doesn't require big flashy jewellery - a skinny strand of pearls might be nice.

    Buy some jewellery (or borrow some friends' to get an idea) and go try it on with your dress - it's really the only way to figure out what you like and what looks best.  It may turn out you don't want to wear pearls at all.

    I think you could wear the pearls. Bling would match it, but I don't see a problem with just pearls because they're so simple. I own a pearl necklace and earring set that has a pendant pearl and some small bits of bling around the settings kind of like this http://elegant-weddings.amazonwebstore.com/B000WDQBKS/M/B000WDQBKS.htm  and it looks really nice.     A good friend of mine always wears something like that and it looks much more understated than you'd imagine, but pulls in the sparkles a lot.

    I'm so going to remember this! I have a similar problem to the OP, I think I want to wear my grandmothers simple pearl set but everyone around me keeps telling me I can't wear them with my giant mega poofy ballgown.

    Your gown is gorgeous and I think anything more than earrings would be overkill.

    The pearl necklace is fine but I wouldn't add earrings and a bracelet. Simplicity is key to elegance.
