Happy Friday!

Good morning, lovely ladies! What's on the agenda for the weekend?

Tonight, I'll do C25K and T25 for the FIFTH day in a row! This is the most I've consistently worked out in my entire life. Then I'm making Skinnytaste Jalapeno Popper Stuffed Chicken for dinner which is one of my favorites! H and I will probably just relax for the rest of the night.

Tomorrow, I'm going to the Belmont Stakes with 3 of my friends! This is my first time so I'm really excited. I'm not much of a gambler but I'll probably place a few bets. It's supposed to be a beautiful day, weather-wise, too :)

Sunday will probably be spent recovering from Saturday. H and I will take Lucy to the dog park and then grill in the backyard.

Re: Happy Friday!

  • Have fuuun this weekend, @swazzle!  DH and I are heading back to PA to visit my parents.  My mom had surgery earlier this week so we're going to help my dad out with some stuff and see my grandmother.  No big plans other than that.
  • @Sakalicious - I hope MamaSak is doing ok! Say hi to the Amish folk for me ;)

@Swazzle Stuffed Jalapeno popper chicken is my favorite recipe from Skinnytaste!

This weekend I have no plans.  It's sad really.  Today I am going to go for a run, pick my daughter up from my mom's, and play outside. As for the rest of the weekend, nothing on the agenda!  Although, orange is the new black just got released on Netflix so I may spend an embarrassing amount of time in my room watching that.

  • @swazzle the doctor jacked her bladder up when he did her hyst a few months ago so someone else had to go in and fix it, but she's home and enjoying the good drugs now ;)

@sakalicious that same thing happened to my mom after her hysterectomy!!!  The same doctor who did the hysterectomy also forgot to stitch her completely and sent her to recovery where she started bleeding out...

He was old and should have been retired...
    image
  • @BreMR holy crap that's terrible.  I hope they got everything under control quickly!  They were supposed to do some sort of bladder suspension last time but a stitch came undone and her bladder ended up twisting somehow.  Fortunately, she had a robotic laparoscopy this time so her recovery should be pretty short.

    Happy Fridayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Tonight FI an I are going over to a couples' house that we're friends with for dinner. We'll probably play a game or two after dinner and then head home.

Saturday afternoon we are working on our wedding invitations! We are DIYing them so we will be printing them off tomorrow. I plan on researching invitations and RSVP wording today while at work.  I really feel like all I get done at work is WR stuff.

Saturday night is date night. We're going out to dinner somewhere (not sure yet) and then going to see A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Sunday...I have no idea about Sunday. I feel like we had something to do but who knows. I'd like to relax and maybe finish the table numbers. If its nice I want to go fishing!

Oh also, our officiant who was my BIL dropped out of the wedding last night, which is awesome -_-   He's being petty about an issue I've been having with him where he essentially has been screwing me over. Whatever. Is there such a thing as smooth wedding planning??

@Swazzle Your recipe sounds delicious! I hope you have fun at the Belmont Stakes this weekend!

@Sakalicious I'm glad your mom's surgery seems to have gone well! FI's mom had a hysterectomy just over a year ago and thankfully she didn't have any complications.

We don't have any plans this weekend. I took Cinders to the vet this morning because yesterday evening we let her out of her crate and her left eye was completely swollen and gunky. Rather than rush out and zoom around at 100 miles per hour like she normally does she went and laid down in the yard for a bit before getting up and acting a little more normal. The vet couldn't find anything in her eye (so no punctured cornea this time) but thinks it could be allergies. She's doing much better today although her eye is sitll a little swollen and icky. Otherwise today is probably going to be another shitty work day. This weekend FI and I need to paint our hallway now that it's all taped up and catch up on yard work.

  • Tonight H will be working so after CrossFit I'll just head home and continue unpacking. We stayed at the house for the first time last night and I woke up lost lol. I was like...where is the bathroom? I love it though. After living in an apartment for the past 6 years I feel like I have all the space in the world.

Tomorrow we will probably continue unpacking until we head to madison later that day for a couple's shower for one of H's friends. We may stay the night since it's a pretty far drive from where we are.

Sunday we are picking up our bed frame, our china cabinet, and our dining room table so it will moving all day. We may be able to even get our shelves and my hope chest too. I'll be glad when this is all done.

@southernpeach89 YAY! I'm so glad you are nearly done with your apartment and moving! Less than 7 more days until you get to bring Maddux home!!!

  • @swazzle before I even get into my weekend plans, let me just say that my jaw dropped and I am consumed with jealousy that you're going to the Belmont. And what a year to be going!!! You have no idea how long I've dreamed of going.

Next let me say how utterly freaking annoyed that because I'm in early, I'm expected to cover phones for 20 minutes that I'm not getting paid for. UTTERLY FREAKING ANNOYED. I loathe my boss. I considered screaming "I QUIT!" at him this week when he gave me a nasty look when I explained that I had to go pump when he was demanding that I do something else (mind you, I set up my pumping schedule with him to make sure that it worked for him and co-workers).

Ok...on to Happy Happy weekend stuff!

Nothing going on tonight. YAY! I'll probably drink a beer and grill something for dinner. And snuggle that cute baby.

Tomorrow, I have a few errands to run early on in the day. Then it's home to plop myself on the couch and watch horse racing all afternoon long.

Sunday, Bean has a lesson in the morning. Then we have to head home to study for his Spanish final.

@sakalicious I miss your face!! Please send me texts of your face! Lots of love to Mama Sak!

  • @Swazzle your recipe sounds fantastic!!

@LaPeanut1018 - Hope Cinders is doing better

@Sakalicious - Hope your mom is doing ok!

    My weekend plans
    Tonight - None
Saturday - Arena Football Game.  Maybe go see Maleficent.
    Sunday - Bridesmaid dress shopping

  • @swazzle have fun at the races, win lots of money!!!! Now I wanted stuffed jalapeno popper chicken for dinner and not crappy chicken marsala!

@sakalicious I hope mama Sak feels better, all the good drugs help!

@bremr I might binge-watch OITNB too this weekend. Maybe on Sunday depending on how hungover I am.

@severmilli12 please AW your invites after you're done, kthanx.

@lapeanut1018 sorry about Cinders! I hope she feels better! Buddy gets allergies this time of year too, he's constantly sneezing (on us, on our food, in our drinks, etc)

@southernpeach89 yay for finally getting moved in!!!!!

This weekend is going to be busy for me. Tonight after work, I'm going to work out and fold laundry, then cook dinner before FI gets home from work. When he gets home we might go to my job's urgent care center since he "mysteriously" hurt his shoulder and is in a lot of pain. I got no sleep last night because he was constantly tossing and turning. I'm a cranky bitch today.

Tomorrow I was supposed to go BM dress shopping but changed the appointment for August since everyone is having financial issues in our WP so my MOH and I are grabbing breakfast instead. After that I'll do grocery shopping and clean the house a little bit since our friends are coming over for drinks and pool time. Saturday night I might check out a bar that's walking distance from me and go drinking, I never get out of the house and this is making me really fucking sad lately.

Sunday will be spent cleaning the whole house because a few people are coming over next week (I'M SO EXCITED!), doing laundry and watching OITNB.

  • @Swazzle - You're going to the Belmont??!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jealous you have NO idea. I mean, I'me very excited to go to a wedding tomorrow, but this will be the first time since I was like 10 years old that I will not be at The Belmont when there is a chance for a Triple Crown. I'm totally torn on what I want to happen tomorrow - on one hand, it would be incredible for him to win, and will be awesome watching it on TV with a ton of other people (FI assures me that this guy and his family are big enough fans that there will be a way to watch it during the cocktail hour) - on the other hand - any other year and I would be there to watch it happen in person, so it would be so depressing if it happens the one year I'm not there :-( /endrant

Today I'm working until 4, hopefully getting home around 4:30 and trying to get my tan on for at least 30 minutes. Then, FI and I have to drive over to Men's Wearhouse to pick up his new suit and to buy him a shirt and a new tie. Then we have to go to DSW so I can exchange my broken shoes for new ones, so so he can buy new shoes and possibly a belt (yes, the man needs everything). After that, I need to go to CVS to pick up a few things, and then clean the apartment since my sister and her BF are staying there to dog sit this weekend.

Tomorrow we'll probably leave by 9:30 for the three hour drive upstate.I'm still not sure what I'm wearing to the ceremony, I haven't bought any kind of jacket/sweater that would make my dress daytime/church appropriate, so I think I'm going to wear something else to church and change when we check into our hotel room during the 4 hour gap. My sister is supposed to be bringing me a dress that could be an option, plus earrings and a purse - you can tell how rarely I dress up, as I have NOTHING I need.

I'm sooooo excited to finally go to a wedding - I haven't been to one since I was 13 years old!

  • geez, @beanbot2002, your boss just doesn't GET IT.

today I'm leaving work at 2 PM and rushing across town to get to my CT scan by 3 PM.  then H and I are going to stop by the grocery store (Sprouts) to pick up all our meat/veggies/fruits.  he has to get back to mow a lawn before it starts raining, so we may or may not have time to grab something to eat.  I know we plan on doing Insanity tonight after he mows, and that my parents' 2 dogs are coming over for a dog play party tonight with our 2 dogs...  so I guess we'll see what happens!  it's raining like crazy here and it's supposed to rain tonight, so we might get rained in and order some food and park on the couch!

I got my PMP materials for my prep class so I need to start on that.  my class is in September, so I've got plenty of time, but I might start reviewing some of the overview portions of it.  it's a quick class (10 weeks) then I sit for the exam, so I don't want to try and cram it all in.

tomorrow, H is going to one of our FAVORITE breakfast places with a guy friend, so I will sit home and be jealous and text him my order.  ;)  maybe not, but I'd like to!!  we don't really have any other plans on Saturday, except to cook dinner.

Sunday we have church and then a big cook-out that evening.

it should be a fun weekend!
  • @Sakalicious - I'm glad she's feeling a bit better!

@Severmilli12 - Pics of your invitation inspiration?

@LaPeanut1018 - Aw I hope Cinders feels better soon! Lucy used to get AWFUL eye allergies when she was a puppy.

@southernpeach89 - Good luck unpacking and moving your furniture!

@beanbot2002 - Well if getting on a train tonight is out of the question, I think you should come to NJ next year and we will go together!

@Dignity100 - What are you thinking for BM dresses?

@buddysmom80 - I SEE YOUR FACE IN ONE WEEK.

@hummingbird125 - I (not so) secretly wish you weren't going to a wedding tomorrow so that we could be at the Belmont together! I want pics of you guys all dressed up and fancy :)

  • @swazzle have a great weekend, the belmont sounds like a lot of fun.

Tonight is just relaxing and getting a few more wedding related things out of the way.  Maybe watch a movie too, FI has had a lot of hockey this week, so we haven't seen much of each other.

Tomorrow is supposed to be my bachelorette party, but no one has said anything about it to me at all.  If it gets cancelled again I'll be kinda upset.  Oh well.

Sunday we have no plans as far as I know.  We may still be on the search for a new wedding band for FI..... so that might happen and we need to do a few wedding related errands as well.  I need to start packing for the honeymoon too and the house needs to be cleaned.

  • @Swazzle - I have been craving jalapeno poppers all week and you just pushed me over the edge. I know what I'm picking up on the way home from work...

@Sakalicious and @BreMR - Good Lord I'm glad I didn't know about possible bladder complications when my mom had her hyst. Glad both of your mamas are alright!

@severmilli12 - I second the request for your invite inspiration! That is something I am really looking forward to doing.

@CocoBellaF - Good luck with your PMP course! I'm starting my classes again in September and wish I could just take time off work to do a 10 or 12 week crash course.

@Peaseblossom55 - Your wedding is in one week!!!

Tonight FI and I are just going to be lazy and boring and stay in. I have a bunch of cleaning that I want to get done and I'm exhausted from this week so I don't really want to do anything major. Probably pizza and a movie that we can listen to while we get other stuff done.

Tomorrow FI is golfing in the morning and I am probably going to the gym. Then we're going to check out another potential wedding venue with our moms (who are WAY TOO EXCITED about all of this wedding stuff...reel it in ladies!). We both like the look of this place online, but if it doesn't blow us away or isn't exceptionally less expensive we'll probably go with the place we saw earlier this week. The rest of Saturday afternoon we have a bunch of errands to run; stuff to return at the mall and a couple gifts to buy.

Sunday is church in the morning, then straight out to my friends' church for their son's christening. I think we're going over to their place for a little bit afterwards, and then running back to go to the evening service at FI's church.

I also feel like I either have awful allergies or I'm coming down with a cold. I'm not anticipating a lot of down time this weekend so I might end up taking Monday off lol

Thanks @Swazzle @Dignity100 and @buddysmom80 I feel like this is becoming a not even monthly thing anymore...the last time we were at the vet was two weeks ago! Whatever this allergy thing is...it can go away ANYTIME now! These vet visits are seriously starting to add up! On the plus side, I did get Cinders a cute patriotic bandana to wear for the 4th of July and for the D-Day anniversary today.

  • I already watched the first episode of Orange is the New Black when SO got home from work this morning!! Need.....more.....now!!!!  I have to go to a project about an hour each way from here today, hoping to make it back before SO gets up for work because I've been intending to make quiche all week and it would be nice if I could have it ready for his breakfast.

Tomorrow I have to go waaaaaaay upstate for a project.  I like to travel on the weekends when SO is working and my mom is more free to watch my dogs.  But mom is going to CT to visit my sister on Sunday, so I have to make every effort to get back home tomorrow night, even though the drive is probably 5-5.5 hrs each way.

Sunday I will have to watch mom's dog, who pees all over my house every time, so maybe I will leave him over there, we will see.  SO has off Sunday night, so maybe we'll get to do something fun... Typically I have family dinner on Sundays, but the whole family will be in CT.  SO will probably sleep all day, but I'd really like to take Kelani to the park if it doesn't rain.  She has been SO full of energy lately - she had me up since 5:30am today :-(

@Sakalicious - Get better wishes for Mama Sak!

@LaPeanut1018 -I hope Cinders feels better soon! Sick Pups are no good!

@southernpeach89 - Have fun unpacking this weekend! Yes, you CAN have fun doing it.

    @beanbot2002 - Your boss is a douche.

Tonight is going to be a whole lot of nothing. Most likely just snuggles with the pup and BF.

Tomorrow we are painting!!! I say we but if BF tries to delay it any more than he already has, I am just going to do it anyways! I will take some before and after pics to AW next week. Maybe I'll add just some pics of the house in general. I really want to see Maleficent too so hopefully Saturday night we can!

Sunday we have a lot going on. We might go to a truck show? They are doing truck pulls and mud races. A couple guys BF works with and their GFs are going so we might join. Later in the day our friends are coming over for a cookout and puppy play date. We will probably play CAH too. Should be fun!

  • @carliealissa we are doing the wording for it on a Word document and then printing them.  We have several extra so I'm sure there will be a lot of trials to get the placement right. I have a blank template that should fit the paper so it shouldn't be too painful. I'm gonna work on it at work and try to get it centered that way when we print them off tomorrow we won't have to mess with the wording at all.

@southernpeach89 @caseface5 Unpacking is so much better than packing. When I pack I eventually get so sick of it that I just start throwing random things in boxes without any organization or care. At least with unpacking everything is getting put away iin it's own little home.

  • Morning, all! Happy Friday!

Tonight FI and I are going to clean house and try to unpack some more stuff, take out the garbage, etc. Water-fighting this week in the basement has taken a lot of time. On the plus side, it does seem to be getting better down there, just taking its sweet-ass time about it. If we get done early enough we'll go over to a friend's place for some gaming.

Tomorrow my parents are coming up to town. My dad and FI are going to work on house projects while my mom and I go wedding dress shopping!! I can post an AW thread later this morning if there's interest in seeing what I'm considering as my first options. We're going to one place this weekend, then in a couple of weeks I'm going to a couple places in my hometown. After that we'll probably go over to FI's old apartment and work on reclaiming it from the stuff that's spread out EVERYWHERE. We were hoping to do that this week, but the house had other plans. I might work in the evening as well if I need to.

Sunday I'm working all day. I have to change over my system for another project that starts next week. I will be working a double shift on Monday and coming in to work every day for the next 3-4 weeks. You guys, I am not amused.
  • @KeptInStitches you have to AW!

@LaPeanut1018 and @SouthernPeach89 I agree. Unpacking was the best part of the whole thing. When I was packing I was slacking hard core, but once it came time ti unpack I got my game face on and got down to work. We unpacked much faster then we packed!

  • I'm super jealous that @swazzle is going to the Belmont.

I'm not sure what's going on tonight. Tomorrow we're having dinner with some friends at a super cool little restaurant/wine bar. We'll probably take Vi to the dog park at some point.

Oh, and I'M GOING TO SEE @HUMMINGBIRD125 because the wedding she's going to is WHERE I LIVE and she didn't even know it.
