Re: Happy Friday!

  • I'm the opposite - I hate unpacking because it means actually deciding where things go!  I moved into my house last march and there are still certain things that just sit where they first landed :-P

@caseface and @cocobellaF Thanks guys Yeah, he's a super butthead. He's ancient...ok maybe not ancient. But he's in his 70s and really has some 1940s ideas of how women should be/act. For instance, last week my coworker and I were giggling about something at our desks and I got scolded for it because a customer could hear my laugh. Not joking. I wasn't cackling or being obnoxious, or saying anything inappropriate. We were both laughing, but I was the one to get scolded. I was informed that apparently I'm his latest target. He picks 1 or 2 employees to pick on at any given time. If he even sees you just chatting with a coworker he tells you that you need to get back to work. I've been fighting back the urge to quit and go back to my old position. We really need the extra few bucks. I would have to take a 5% cut if I did that.

@ swazzle OMG YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ETA and you and @hummingbird125 and anyone else who wants to, should come down to VA for Spring Gold Cup day. (Same day as the Derby).

  • @TwoDimes - Yea, I remove ALL the seeds and it's never been too spicy. I like a little kick but nothing outrageous.

  • SO incredibly happy it's Friday. Our anniversary is tomorrow, plus I'm feeling good for the first time in a few months (my depression has been really bad lately and I'm finally starting to feel like myself again) and I'm leaving work at 1:00 today.

FI might have to work late and bring home more work tonight, so I'm planning to stop by his place and leave him dinner, some candy and a cute little note to surprise him. My neighborhood's summer festival is this weekend, so I'll probably go to that tonight while he's working and then call it in early. Sunday we're renting a boat to go out on Lake Lanier for FFIL's birthday (and by we I mean everyone chipped in, but FSIL took all the credit) and then having a cook out.

@KeptInStitches you had darn well better AW your dress!

@Peaseblossom55 I hope you have an awesome bachelorette party! 1 week!

  • @LaPeanut1018 - One of my dogs had really bad allergies.  She was on so many supplements in her life, I'm trying to remember which ones were for her allergy issues - I think we used benedryl and Animal Essentials Apawthacary Detox Blend.  We also played with her food to find one to help boost her own immune system.

@Swazzle - I have 1 person in my bridal party, so I'm not too concerned about the bridesmaid dress.  I want her to be comfortable.  My preference would be a knee length dress.  As far as color, I'm pretty open, I'd like to avoid black just because we're planning for an outside wedding mid-day and I think it would be hot.

  • @severmilli12 love the invites, they're really pretty without being too busy or fussy. I like the idea of putting your names in a dark mint colour, they would really stand out!

@severmilli12,  I don't know if this is way too ambitious for you or even an interest, but I was so excited to be made aware of the possibility that I want to share it with you-

Apparently you can do your own foil stamping using a laser printer and a laminator, and the supplies are all pretty cheap.  So your names could be in gold! (or shiny metallic green, whatever)

I haven't tried this yet because the invitations I'm currently planning on making are too thick to fit in a printer.

Umm, we moved into our house LAST JANUARY and we still have an upstairs bedroom we call the "overflow room" that is FILLED with nothing but boxes and crap!!  I have half a mind to just get rid of all of it, since we clearly haven't needed any of it in the past year and a half... but I know a lot of it is photos, sentimental things etc. that I eventually need to go through.

The accumulation of STUFF in our lives drives me crazy!!

  • @carliealissa that is so cool, I wish I had a reason to make invitations for something right now because I would love to try that. @severmilli12 I spy a minty-aqua coloured foil...

    @KeptInStitches SCIENCE: It's life-destroying!

I'm home again today. I'm still so fatigued that it's hard to walk around the apartment. It's a bit worse than yesterday, I think. Fortunately, from now on, my infusions will be on Fridays so that I can recover on the weekend.

I'm going to my not-exactly college reunion tomorrow night (it's a young alumni event because our college doesn't do official reunions until 15 years). I'm dreading it and I wish I hadn't bought my tickets already. I know a handful of my friends will be there, but after this week, I don't really feel up to pretending that everything's fine, meet my fiance, wedding planning is going great, etc. etc.

Sunday, I'm going to a minor league baseball game with some of my friends.

You could always buy a pack of blank cards from Michael's or Hobby Lobby clearance bins, and practice with some "Thank you" or "Happy birthday" cards.. :)

It's definitely on my long, long, long DIY project list!

  • *sigh* I'm stuck in bed with a 100-degree fever. I'll be living vicariously through you all this weekend... especially @swazzle during the Belmont. That sounds like so much fun!

Assuming my fever finally disappears tonight, tomorrow we'll probably go to an anime convention that BF has dying to go to since we started dating. He's SO excited, but he refuses to go without me. It's sweet and all, but all I'll be doing is laying in bed watching Netflix and napping intermittently, so I'm seriously fine with him going to the convention without me. Anywho, on Sunday we'll run errands and then go watch Game of Thrones at our friends' apartment. Yay weekend!
