Ceremony reading

I'm looking for a non-religious, non-poetry reading for our ceremony.  I'm thinking something contemporary, lighthearted, cute and funny.  All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

We're using Khalil Gibran - "On Marriage" & Dr. Seuss "Oh the Places You'll Go" There are some nice Irish wedding blessings we considred.

  • We're having our officiant read "Union" by Robert Fulghum, which is funny, sweet, and non-religious.  We're also having friends read an excerpt from "Bridge Across Forever" by Richard Bach and an Apache Marriage Blessing.  We considered  an exceprt from "The Irrational Season" by Medeleine L'Engle, and "It's You I Like" by Mister Rogers (that one may still go on our program), and "The Art of a Good Marriage" by Wilferd Arian Peterson.  All pretty non-religious, varying degrees of sweet/funny.  Good luck!
  • Thanks ladies!  I think we're going to go with The Union by Robert Fulghum.
