Re: Weekend! (And some AW thrown in)

  • Thanks everyone! Sorry this was a post and run, things got really crazy here at work. I love the way the colors came out. Our inspiration was the pillow on THIS bed which we have in grey.

Love everyone else's updates. Would love to tag you all but it would take forever and I just found out I have a cheer meeting at my house tonight that I have to go home and speed clean for! YIKES!

BTW today is my fourth anniversary here! YOOHOO!

  • I apologize in advance for any typos - I'm on my phone.

This weekend was wonderful and flew by way too quickly! Saturday morning we drove about 3 hrs upstate for FI's friend's wedding. We got up there early, and stopped at Wal-Mart because he forgo to bring an undershirt. Then, FI got fully dressed in the Parking lot, it was hilarious. We then attended the ceremony - a full catholic mass. The church was beautiful but it was sooo hot inside.

There was a 3.5hr gap before the reception, so we headed to the hotel to check in. We "relaxed" in the room for a while and then got dressed up for the reception. We met up with down of FI's friends in their room (the two guys who didn't have dates we're sharing a room and got upgraded to a gorgeous suite!) and did shots of fireball before walking over to the venue across the street.

The wedding was phenomenal - fantastic cocktail hour, gorgeous location, great food all the way through. I think I cleaned my plate. My only criticism was that the dance floor was all the way at one end of the room, and I couldn't even really see the first dance, or any of the people who have speeches. They had an awesome band, and FI and I discovered that we are NOT good dancers, and have some work to do before our own wedding! FI also drunkenly asked a friend of his to be his best man - it was the guy I thought it would be, but I don't think he planned on asking him that night, but the guy was REALLY excited about it, so that was pretty cute.

Sunday morning, we checked out of the hotel by 10 and then met @GoldenPenguin‌ and her FI for breakfast!!! She is awesome and hilarious as I always knew she would be, and her FI is VERY cute and (I think) worthy of all her awesomeness :-)
After devouring a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, and BACON we drove home and spent the rest of the day laying out in the yard.

  • @weelittlewizabeth I love fievel!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • Thanks, @phira. It has been hard to keep all the feels in check, but you're right, having a list of things to do instead of ruminate over it helps a LOT. But yeah, I am impressed by what he's done so far (really, what both of us have done so far). No matter who we each end up with, our future relationships are going to benefit from this period in each of our lives, as tough as it has been. Yay us!
  • @Blue & White me too! I watched Fievel allll the time growing up. BF seemed to enjoy the movie too because he can't stop singing, "There are NO cats in America, and the streets are made of cheese..." lol
