It's shaping up to be a good food day

FI makes the best spaghetti bolognaise I've ever tasted, and guess what we had for supper last night? So guess what I had for breakfast this morning! Starting the day off right!

Right now I'm simmering a couple of chicken breasts in a white wine brine-y concoction, with which I plan to make some sort of rice-y paella-y dish for dinner. And lunch will probably be either a bowl of oatmeal or toast with delicious homemade marmalade from my gran.

What's on your menu today?

I had a bowl of Honey Nut Chex cereal for breakfast and for dinner FI is making a roast.  I don't know what I'll have for lunch yet, or what the sides will be for dinner.

  • lol you're awesome. I love eating leftover dinner for breakfast- my friends in high school all thought I was nuts because I'd rather have a pork chop at 7am than pancakes.

I've got yogurt for morning snack/ breakfast, steak & rice fajitas for lunch (leftover dinner), spinach dip with pretzels for afternoon snack, and FI is making his famous shephards pie for dinner.

Spaghetti bolognese = breakfast of champions.

Eggs for breakfast, leftover burger, salad, and sweet potato fries for lunch, and Chipotle for dinner. WIN!

  • I'm so hungry.

For breakfast, I had a Nutribullet.
For lunch, I will have a Nutribullet.

For dinner, I'm making chicken marsala.
  • @ClimbingBrideNY‌ You ate a nutribullet? Sounds very uncomfortable. ;)

I had coffee, yogurt and granola for breakfast. Lunch I will have leftovers from last nights meatballs and rice dish and for dinner I will probably have a grilled chicken salad since FI won't be home until late. And there will be wine of course!
  • Breakfast was Rice Krispies in almond milk. Lunch will probably be a sandwich. Dinner... no idea. I packed up all our pots and pans, so it will probably be takeout. Knowing FI, that means cheeseburgers.

    It was very crunchy.
  • Fruit and a meal bar for breakfast.
Salad with pork loin from last night and more fruit for lunch.
Dinner will probably be a sandwich since FI and I are taking a late-evening yoga class.

I have been eating like a maniac lately. And I need to drop some weight I've put on. And I'm mostly hungry because my office is filled with food. I'm not starving myself - I promise!
  • For Breakfast I had a banana. For lunch, half a leftover pulled chicken sandwich from this weekends brunch. Dinner.. unless FI picks stuff up from the supermarket, more leftover pasta with veggies.

And as a possible snack - apparently there is a huge 80 foot tanker of sausage near my job. They will be handing out free sausage all day till 6. So, my coworker and I are planning on hitting that up at some point during the day.

  • I think I'm going to have leftover lasagna when I get home, and I'm going to make FI a cheese omelet and pan fries.

I am also going to eat a shocking amount of ice cream after the lasagna and probably go to bed early.

  • I tried the "pizza de Rio" that the takeout place by my office was hawking in honor of the World Cup... Brazilian sausage, hearts of palm, corn and peppers. It was only "meh" to me because when we ate pizza in Brazil, it was always one topping at a time... a hearts of palm pizza, a corn pizza, a sausage pizza. I feel like it would have been better that way, but it was still ok. Still fun to get hearts of palm on a pizza.

Dinner...? No idea. Probably ice cream and wine, because I'm a grown up.

  • This is weird....do you guys "save" your favorite groceries for later in the week? If I buy some nice t-bone steaks, I have a thing where I don't want to eat them on Monday and then have less yummy stuff the rest of the week. I will cook the pasta or whatever first and build up to the steaks on like Thursday. I also do this while eating each dish- like I will eat the outside/ not as juicy bites of steak first, saving the middle for last.

  • Breakfast was a bowl of multigrain cheerios and lunch was a frozen meal picked up at the grocery store. Not sure what's on the menu for dinner tonight - we're going to dinner at a friend's house and we're in charge of dessert and wine. So at the very least I know I'll be eating strawberry shortcake later on!
  • Breakfast was a granola bar, greek yogurt, raspberries and coffee
    Morning snack was a banana
Lunch was cheese and crackers, carrot sticks and dried cranberries
Afternoon snack is apple slices with peanut butter
The lab is under negative pressure (safety thing) and if I don't keep my blood sugar up it makes me feel faint so I have am and pm snacks most days.
We are going to the movies tonight so I'm not sure what the plans are for dinner.

  • Dinner...? No idea. Probably ice cream and wine, because I'm a grown up.
Exact same plan over here. Birthday cake ice cream and a dry riesling? Yes, please.

We FINALLY got a DQ here in my area (western NY) about a year or so ago. We're supposed to be getting a Sonic soon as well, which means I'll stop getting pissed every time I see a Sonic commercial. Right now the closest one is 3+ hours away.

  • I ate a chorizo and potato torta from the delicious street cart around the corner from work. Dinner might have to be something more vegetable-oriented. However, all this talk of ice cream has me hankering for a milkshake...(who am I kidding, I could happily drink a milkshake every day the temperature is over 70).

  • I've been traveling for work lately and now have an out-of-town coworker in town. This means I didn't get grocery shopping done as planned.

Today, I didn't get a chance to have breakfast (overslept) but had an awesome junk salad from a local restaurant. I'm super-picky about salads (not a fan of meat or cheese on them) so I was very excited to have something covered in olives, kidney beans, broccoli, and bacon (the exception to my meat rule). Tons of veggies and a yummy dressing.

After this, dinner at my favorite Greek restaurant. Possibly drinks. I love it when I get to choose the restaurant!

  • As a reward for working so hard at packing, FI went and got me froyo. Brought me strawberry with cheesecake pieces, chocolate chips, strawberry juice balls, and maraschino cherries. He loves me.
