It seems like lately we've had a TON of NEY engagements and venue choices made. I think we should AW them

I love seeing where everyone's getting/gotten married.

We are getting married at a historic restaurant that has ballrooms upstairs. This is the ballroom we are getting married in. Our ceremony and reception are in the same room. Guests will move down the hall to a smaller room for cocktail hour while the DOC and staff flips the ceremony space to the reception space.

We got married in an Old Southern home that was built in the 1800s. It's called Founders Hall and it used to be a Vet Office back in the day. Now it's a wedding venue and I had my sorority formal there and my wedding!

@Swazzle this may sound like a stupid question, but at the top of the aisle where your flower arrangements are, did your bridal party stand off to the side in front of them, behind them, or even with them?

FI and I bought candle trees for the top of our aisle and I have no idea where they go and where the bridal party goes. Behind them? beside them? in front? I'm so confused about it.

I feel like I haven't looked at my venue's website in FOREVER. I forgot how pretty the place is!

We're getting married at a banquet facility on a golf course. In the winter. And FI doesn't golf. Anyway, I digress...

This is the room where we're having our ceremony. I'm doing all candles throughout and having the DJ set up some candle-colored uplighting. Ideally I would like it so that there is no other light coming from anything (like the chandelier) but the photographer will probably get the final say with that:

This is where we're having our reception, it's the room next to where we're having our ceremony, the doors will create a partition between the ceremony space and the reception area:

OH and the best part, the bridal suite, which is HUGE.

This is where we are thinking right now, the church SO grew up in, but we haven't gone to meet with the pastor yet to set a date.

There are such a range of dates I want, I don't even know!!

My mom is against a church hall type deal, and in fact against SO's hometown, but we're pretty decided.

I would looooove an old mansion though!!

@severmilli12 - Ugh this is one of those things that drives me nuts when I look at my ceremony pictures. So, they set the GM up standing VERY close to my H and then my BMs had to stand fairly far away from me because of my train. H's brother is literally up his butt in all of the first-kiss pictures and you can't see the other vase with the cherry blossoms and it makes me sad

I noticed none of this that day. It wasn't until I got my pictures back that I was like UGH.

@Swazzle I think it looks fine in your photos. I see what you're saying about the GM being closer than the BM, but it doesn't look awkward or strange. I was just wondering where they were compared to your flower arrangements because I don't know where to put my candle trees $:\$ I don't want them blocked by our BP but I don't want them placed somewhere awkwardly.

We're getting married in CT in between mine and Fiance's hometowns. It is an event space, mostly used for weddings, but has an old mansion/ inn feel which I love. I'm attaching a picture of the outdoor space where we'll prob do the ceremony, the interior reception area (the curtains aren't red anymore, they're a soft neutral... and those people are not anyone I actually know), plus one of the lobby, oh, and a picture of the "bride room" because I think it's the cutest thing ever and is kind of what sold me on the place. Okay. I'm going to post a million pictures. I'm obviously very excited....

@beanbot2002 I love the hard wood floors of your venue! I was such a weirdo and picky about the carpet patterns of all the places I looked, but I learned quickly that I just had to get over that.

@severmilli12 - I would say to kind of have them set on either side of the priest/minister/officiant and then have your BP on the other side of it. Kind of like this:

We are having a small fall wedding at a restaurant...we chose something woodsy yet modern. The room we'll be in has windows for two of the four walls, a covered deck, cool modern "flower" shaped lights. And the ironwork and stonework throught the restaurant is very modern yet nature-inspired.

It will be 4 years in November. We got married in the chapel of our undergrad university. The reception was at a ski resort in a little lodge.

Screw this DIY stuff! Except for my veil. I saw the same exact veil that I made at a bridal salon for $200.

I love our venue! We're getting married in a place called Kimball Hall. It's a historic home that in the past was a boarding house owned by two sisters. The woman who owns it now converted it to a wedding venue several years ago, and added on addition to the home to make it a bit bigger. We'll get married in the backyard underneath an arbor weather permitting. There's a 250+ year old oak tree back there that's also on the Historic Tree Registry.

And these are photos from my venue that are my decor inspiration. We're hanging black lanterns from the ceiling (normally there are white chandeliers) and doing a mix of low floral centerpieces with black lantern/candle centerpieces throughout the room. The second photo is actually from @southernpeach89 's RD!

We are getting married next summer at BIttersweet Farm in Westport, MA.

It operates as a restuarant and tavern year round, as well as doing many weddings and private events in their main dining room.

Some more pictures:

Ceremony location (big lawn behind reception), but they can turn it so you have the stone wall behind you if you prefer that. I'm still not sure what I prefer.
