Wedding Invitations & Paper

Reception Insert Wording

We finally got our invitations figured out, but now we're stuck on how to word the insert we're using for information about the reception. The reception is about 20 minutes away from the ceremony. When we paid our deposit, we were told that the fees include free admission to the museum for everyone invited. We'd like to somehow say that they can go up to the 2nd floor and grab a drink or tour the museum on the first floor upon arrival. We're doing about 20 minutes worth of pictures between the ceremony and reception (no gap really, aside from drive time) since we're going to have drinks/snacks starting right away and the museum is open for touring throughout the evening. Any suggestions?

Re: Reception Insert Wording

  • Reception
    immediately following the ceremony
    Venue name
    Address

The museum will be open to all for the evening.

    Or something like that.

  • Do you have the entire museum reserved just for your guests, or will there be other people too? Will they have to show the invitation to prove they're with your wedding, or just walk in?

Upon arrival, the first floor of the museum will be available to tour.  Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available on the second floor.

All areas of the building are open to the public during business hours (so until 5pm). Our guests will arrive 4:30-4:45 I'm guessing. They won't have to show the invitation, I actually called and asked that just last week because I know I'm the type to not carry my invitation around with me, so I can't imagine everyone does.
  • I'd just ask the staff to greet them on arrival with "wedding guests? Cocktails are available on the second floor and you are welcome to your the museum at your leisure". Or put a sign at the entrance.
